Re: Nottingham
There's a new bar opening where the Old Vic used to be that is going to have table tennis tables in.
I'm sure by now you know my feelings on this matter.

Re: Nottingham
Possibly just before your time here. A great old place; a dancehall with original chandeliers - had the literal guts ripped out of it and was made into a shite late bar/nightclub that only the lamest of human beings attended. Such as the fucking Duke of Cambridge on one terrible night for the city. The rest is mystery.

Re: Nottingham
On Fletchergate, just down from Hockley and on the edge of the Lace Market. Next to a pleasant pub called The Cross Keys.

Can't make it to Queer Pop Fest tomorrow now so if anyone is looking for tickets for both/either days let me know.

This week is a good one for gigs in Nottingham... At least at JT Soar. Middle Ones et al tomorrow, Chris Clavin and David Leach on Wednesday.

Re: Nottingham
Hallie & the Annies, (some members of) T-Shirt Weather, and the fat bloke out of August Actually.
(I made the same joke in the Sheffield thread but am hoping nobody else reads both and calls me out on this)

Re: Nottingham
It's a good idea to try and sync calendars on these things... I'm hosting 4 (and won't be organising any more for this year) before then, though I am playing a couple more:
19th October - The Wave Pictures, Schwervon! and Simon Love (at Spanky's)*
8th November - Totally Acoustic #1 with MJ Hibbett, Shelley Jane, Dan Sheen, and me (at the Chameleon)
21st November - Chris T-T (at Spanky's)
6th December - Totally Acoustic #2 with Simon Love, Bear Paw, and me (at the Chameleon)
The ones I'm playing are tomorrow at JT, 8th October at The Maze, and *19th October as part of the Hockley Hustle (this is during the day, and Simon Love is also playing, then we're going to Spanky's for the WPs gig).
In case nobody picked up on it yet, we're organising a monthly Totally Acoustic (under the tutelage of Mr Hibbett), in the daytime, on (usually, though not in December) the second Saturday of every month. I'm going to be playing at all of these, in a compere role, but we'll have actually good people playing too.

Anorak Nottingham gigs are:a layer of chips wrote:Any chance anyone could list here what gigs they've got coming up until Christmas here? I lose track on Facebook. I NEED A LIST.
27/08 - Chris Clavin + David Leach + Shankland + Zach Roddis + Stephen James @ JT Soar
03/10 - Tyrannosaurus Dead + Debris Slide + 1 other @ The Chameleon
09/10 - The Tuts + Wolf Girl + 1 other @ JT Soar
15/11 - That gig we're co-promoting
There's no plans to do anything else between those dates, but will probably want to do something in December.
I keep a semi-regularly updated list of all the gigs I'm interested in seeing on the Anorak Nottingham website: http://anoraknottingham.com/?pg=gigs

Re: Nottingham
I may join you. I was thinking the other day it's been ages since I've just been to the pub.
