They were on telly failing to convince me that they weren't trying to shop their old dead dad's corpse back home to Germany on Easyjet for £36 rather than shipping him home in a coffin for a couple of grand. Cheapskates.
My apple pies go off today.

That reminds me of when MI5 (allegedly) tried to set Arthur Scargill up as a kiddy fiddler.

"It was a beautiful yellow to start with but after a while it started to go brown."
"If I can't do anything else, I will eat it," she said.
Brilliant.

here's an unlikely set of circumstances:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... dozer.html
A German student created a major traffic jam in Bavaria when he made a rude gesture at a group of Hells Angels, hurled a puppy at them and then escaped on a stolen bulldozer
we've all done it.
When the people are being beaten with a stick, they are not much happier if it is called 'the People's Stick.'

an old associate of mine (very old) in their '77 punk days used to go out of their way to do hand gestures and shout punk rock outrage at the big fat bikers hanging outside the horn of plenty pub in st albans, having riled them the young punks would then leg it (not so nimbly, they had bondage trousers on) 200 metres or so up the road and then turn and watch the bikers waddle menacingly and with great effort up the road behind them... and then they'd leg it up the road some more and take great delight in watching the bikers struggle behind them and stopping to take a breather and prop themselves up against a lamppost while panting 'when we get you... huff huff... we'll... gasp... kick your... puff puff... heads... ohbloodyhell... in... oh jesus'

apparently it was great sport and the bikers fell for it every time

simple days they were back then

so a presumably slow moving bulldozer is possibly as good a getaway vehicle as any to escape from some marauding bikers (providing they're not on their bikes)

I'm not sure whether this is hilarious or really, really tragic.

Tragicomic, i think.

But embarrassingly so.

That is baffling. Nobody wants hair in their food, surely? Even if it's of homeopathic quantities...
I may be ugly and hate-filled but... wait, what was the third thing you said?

Not that weird perhaps. If you were brought up a catholic or if you read up about the medieval church there are a lot of parallels. In many ways it's exactly like a saintly relic. Even the dust from the tomb of a saint was said to have miraculous properties. It's the first step in the secular canonisation of St Diana of Kensington Palace ...

On a completely different vein. I found this in this week's popbitch. There's some weird shit goes on:

This is appalling really, it's abominably cruel. But I still laughed. I'm evil.

At the age of 97, Henry Kerr has married 87-year-old Valerie Berkowitz after wooing her for four years.

The pair, who met at a residential home in Golders Green, north London, tied the knot in a ceremony at the home on Sunday followed by high tea for 80 guests.
Aww, bless.
Mr Kerr said: "By the time I was in my mid-90s I found that I was looking at this young lady, I (fancied) her.

"I thought to myself, 'How ridiculous, how could she react to a silly old codger like me'?

"And quite casually one day I said to her, more out of curiosity really, I said, 'What would you say if I asked you to marry me'?

"She burst into hysterical laughter, put down her head on the table and laughed till tears ran down her face."
How sweet!
Mr Kerr, who describes himself as young at heart, said it was important to get married to stop others from gossiping.

"What pleases me is people not now saying, 'You know they are living together, they are sleeping together'."
BOAK!

Authorities in Mexico say a newborn baby girl declared dead by doctors revived inside her coffin during her wake.

Hidalgo state Attorney General Jose Rodriguez says the parents heard a strange noise coming from the tiny casket. Opening it up, they found her crying and very much alive.
