andy! i was skeptical too but it's amazing! seriously! i thought it was going to be like high school musical or something (although i was still really curious about it) but it's not like that. it's really funny and there's a lot of cutting dialogue (and yes, there are cheesey moments, but they are sweet!)

that met with approval in our house

I wish the world was a lot more glee and a lot less (i.e, none) x factor

we caught some of that 'epic movie' the other night- good heavens, that was dreadful- so it's heartening to see jayma mays in this with an above decent script that actually contains laughs, wit, brains

we were annoyed that the next episode isn't until the new year (on e4)

I hope I haven't said anything to irk astrid

I too thought it would be far too High School Musical for my tastes, but nah, I really enjoyed it. For all the reasons mentioned above really.

Oh and Jayma Mays is lovely, isn't she?

Andy, your response pleases me greatly (that is my Eric Northman impression by the way).

It just annoys me when, as Sandy says, people go all "But it's like High School Musical!" and think they're being really original in their critique without having watched it properly. I really love the insane characters (OH Sue Sylvester!) and the writing makes me bark-laugh out loud It was originally intended to be an extremely dark show, but then Ryan Murphy turned it into comedy and zing, perfect pitch between light and dark.

I did not think it would fare well with the Brits. I'm intrigued that it seems to work here!

I figured it was good bait to put Jayma Mays pictures in the first post, haha.

I caught some of Epic Movie on Sunday and thought, this may be shit but she is rather adorable. Of course when I looked her up I found she was in Glee. But then I just got in and discovered there's no Glee repeat on E4 for me to record tonight. Boo to that.

When does it actually start on E4?

Apart from the sneak preview on Tuesday, it's not starting until January. It does not state on the website any date yet, but they'll definitely be pushing for it so I'm sure you'll see ads closer to the time.

Chris - The pilot is on E4 on Demand now! They apologised for the delay on the website.

I love how incredibly OTT they've gone with the music. There's a time and a place for subtle, but if you're going to go for it then you should really go for it.

Exactly! It's fun and it's done with so much humour. Love love love. Once you see more episodes, you really see how they have fun with it!

Like Kurt's dad wouldn't realise that his son's gay...

And of course he's gonna be cool with it - he's a gay policeman in My Name Is Earl...

Actually, it's a fairly unusual depiction of a gay teen/parent relationship in an American contemporary television show.

Also I was very, very close to beginning to spoil stuff but I forgot that you guys are only on Preggers! Eek. I'm kinda jealous of those of you who have all 13 episodes to enjoy or the first time. Although it is annoying me that so many people I dislike are starting to like it. Classic "But they can't possibly understand it the way I understand it!"

I can't wait for the back 9 to start in April. The cast keep tweeting mini spoilers/teases and it is killin' me.

Just talking about who's shooting scenes with who, big numbers that we'll need to go to "gleehab" for after we see it.(Chris Colfer, Kurt, haha). Just praising each other and saying how good it's gonna be! Eeeeee!

I missed the 3rd episode on Sunday, enjoyed the first two. This is my first tv show I am making an effort to watch after 4 years without a telly. Two of my favourite songs were in the first episode - don't stop believing and leaving on a jet plane - bodes well. It gets the balance of heart warming stickyness and humour spot on so far - a difficult line to tread...
