I was surprised, yet delighted, this got past the eagle eyed Leicester Mercury Mailbox editor:

It's more like something out of Viz

Edit: It's funnier if I get the link right

Well, thanks and everything, but when we were asking for a new music venue in Leicester we were kind of thinking of something a bit smaller: http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/n ... ticle.html

"If Kasabian can sell out De Montfort Hall three nights in a row, that shows that people here like music". No, it shows that in their own home town people like Kasabian's music.

I love the way they're STILL saying the Arena was a "John Peel favourite" - i think he once said, when asked, at a disco in 1986 there that it was "quite good" or something similar and they've been using it ever since.

The Arena was a terrible venue tho - especially when they walled it all in to make it more like a club, so that you couldn't actually see the stage from most of the room.

"If Kasabian can sell out De Montfort Hall three nights in a row, that shows that people here like music". Doesn't that mean the exact opposite?

I liked the Arena. The building is still there, standing empty, as far as I know

How long would it take me to walk to Leicester Tigers' ground from the station, Leicesters? And is it easy to find? I've been past it loads of time, but I'm not sure how far it is from the traino.

It's easily walkable. You just come out of the station, and go along Waterloo Way (which is the big road opposite you and slightly to the left) and keep walking and you eventually come round a bend and there it is. Ten minutes walk, if that

10 - 15 minutes - you walk straight ahead for ten minutes, then turn left. Someone with updated Leicester Knowledge may need to confirm, but I remember it being quite easy. You get to walk past my old flat too.

edit: too slow!

Yes, Sam, it is. Which pub toilet seats will my friends be able to snort coke off now, eh? They just don't take these things into consideration.

Craig! You daft sod. You've chosen to visit the weekend that not only I but C&C are also away, in sunny Scarborough.

You should chase down the Tedster and boy Edens to see what they're up to

Hey Leicesters - I'm playing at Firebug on 18 September! Supporting Theoretical Girl. Anyone who isn't Pablo fancy it? Craig? And/or a pint and a pizza in the Criterion before?

You are. And my friend's putting you on. And I expressly told him not to put anyone decent on in support because I'm on holiday, but would he listen?

Add the misdirection punchline yourselves.

No. They don't even let slightly bigger ones in either, even in the daytime.
