That sounds pretty good. I was convinced they were going to open with a Lovely Eggs cover there!

It's kind of a shame how good they are, 'cos I really wanted to say "Whitebelt? Shitebelt more like!" and now I can't.

I'm not sure that the music makes up for it.

Saw them supporting Hinds at the Bodega and thought they were ace, think it was their biggest gig to date and they were obviously a bit nervous, but definitely ones to watch.

HICCUP

Image

saw these guys on holiday in New York a couple weeks ago - really good stuff. it's Haillie from The Unlovables with two other folks who are new to me, and they're ace.

they kinda reminded me of Small Factory live, but that doesn't come across quite so much on these demos. anyway, they're JOYOUS and FUN, and noisy and catchy and incredibly poppy, and i reckon quite a lot of people on here would love em. somewhere between indiepop and pop-punk, to these ears (s'all good)

can't wait for 'proper' releases

Ralph was watching minecraft videos and this lovely song came on. I asked him what band it was thinking they'd just added some music to the video but it turns out that one of the youtubers (I believe that to be the correct term that the young people use) he follows has made a song that is really indiepop:

I was concerned "True Love Kills the Fairy Tale" by "The Casket Girls" would be all gothy, but it's really really not. it's a touch drone-y but also poppy and bright.

Last night I witnessed the debut popshow by Sheffield band Thee Mightees. They were fucking ace, all jangling and melodies and proper choruses and that. While it's weird having a Sheffo indiepop band that isn't the Sweet Nothings or Robberie or have Tonieee in it, this is a welcome development:

(Couldn't get the soundcloud thing to work, soz)

The Seamonsters who are "a six piece all girl indie-pop band from Sheffield". I quite like 'em.

I think this is the only track right now, but I'm really liking this song. Also, what a great band name.

This band is pretty phenomenal. Their songs are really catchy, their lyrics are clever and funny, and they mostly sing about geek culture and feminism. Who could really ask for anything more?
