And She Closed Her Eyes by Stina Nordenstam has been on a lot in the car this week, it seems to suit the hazy sunshine and autumn colours.

The Armitage Shanks 'All Cisterns Go!' EP

it's fucking ludicrous, in a good way, obviously

their cover of 'Action Time Vision' improves upon the original by being faster, more frenetic and having Dick bark the lyrics like a good 'un

this songs on it too:

This evening I'm transfixed by Tacoma Radar's, No One waved Goodbye as ever I am when it gets played. Like Galaxie 500, but with better songs, it's the most criminally under-appreciated record ever made.

It's a shame the band never made it and this (and a couple of earlier singles) is all we ever got.

woah, that's a bold claim!

I'm not sure I quite with you based on the song you posted there but I'll definitely be looking out for more because I liked it (I just won't won't use Galaxie 500 as some form of benchmark/measuring stick)

The original is damn close to perfection in my book.

yeh, but it could be faster and more frenetic

I'm listening to stewart home's 'comes in your face' lp which is available as a free download on last.fm

recorded at toerag studios in 1996, 'comes in your face' is a ragged knockabout collection of foul-mouthed trangressive subversive punk rock songs most of which are about 90 seconds long

song titles include 'arsehole' ('your philosophy is bullshit, you're just a washed up impericist'), 'towards a gay communism' ('women and queens will lead the revolution, women and queens have got the only solution'), 'smash the individual' ('don't need this bourgeois concept'), 'join the angry side' ('see the youth take to the street, watch the police beat a retreat') and 'my baby's got syphilis' ('I like playing with excrement, I like playing with excrement, I like playing with excrement and an electric current')

and you can singalong, although be prepared to blush and mumble as it gets quite, um, strong at times

well, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's free, you didn't pay for it, not with money anyway

Ah right. I liked Stewart Home's book's like 'Red London' & 'Defiant Pose' that pastiched Richard Allen's 70s Skinhead novels & also his 'Cranked Up Really High' punk book.

Let's Whisper - Dora's song:

I know it says 'Dylan's song' on there, but today it's all about someone else of course.

the Cinema Red & Blue album which i've finally (belatedly) picked up this week

it's ace, innit? at the minute i like it more than howl of the lonely crowd which i appear to have stopped listening to for some reason

this might just be the first flushes of a crush though

anyway, it's rather splendid

i wish it had a download code with the vinyl though. it seems odd that anyone releases vinyl without one these days

This:

I feel I never gave Owen a fair chance. Boy am I regretting that now. I might have to buy this record. With money that I got from working. I haven't done that in a while.
