I've got three but I haven't had time to have a proper look at it. You do rather ruin the joining in aspect by telling everybody not to post : )

Yeah, not had much time to look properly yet but I've got 37 and 47! Maybe for now I'll just try and get all the ones ending in 7.

Oh I only meant don't post the answers... not yet...

Hmm... if it helps the band order is alphabetical with the first answer being a band that begins with a number (huge clue) then the next answer begins with an A... there isn't a band for each letter of the alphabet but if you get an answer and it's The Flatmates, for example, then then next answer should be either a band beginning with G or perhaps another F... or maybe an H

I'm convinced that might help

I think I've got just over half of them, but I'm really struggling now. The anagram ones are particularly tricky!

Got: 1, 3, 4, 6 - 11, 13, 16, 18, 19, 21-23, 25, 27, 31, 34, 38, 39, 41-43, 47, 50.

Edit: Just got #2 as well.

Got about 15 so far, but I suspect I don't have enough years hewing away at the coalface of indiepop to have sufficient knowledge to do myself justice*.

I managed a couple more before crashing out. #14 and #48 made me smile.

So much work has gone into that! Thanks. I'll absolutely be giving it a go, but with the andyi caveat that I wasn't paying attention for the past twenty or so years.

Yay I finally got 1. I've been stuck on that since Friday! But I have also got 3, 4, 15 and 16. I'm rubbish at cryptic clues. It's probably going to take some time.

Andy, when you put the answers up can you do them in spoiler sections with each answer in its own section? Then those of us that are slow can check the answers that we've got without revealing the whole lot. But only if it isn't a massive passion in the arse to do.

And thanks for doing this, is great :-).

Showing off my superior mastery of the smartphone keyboard again - "passion" should be "pain". But "a massive passion in the arse" does sound like a great thing!

I'm laughing because work is horrible and insane and all I want is to sit here and get more than seven of these. I almost don't want you to tell us the answers, Andy, and for this to turn into some sort of Sisyphean fun where we just delightedly post numbers at each other.
