People who know more about the metal than me say this is Stoner Doom Metal. I just like the riffs innit:

Stephen O'Malley from Sunn O))) has 'curated' a 'heavy collection' for Network Awesome, including Faster Than Sound, Mayhem, Black Sabbath, Chelsea Wolfe, Rob Kovacs, Les Rallizes Denudes/Fushitsusha, Caspar Brotzmann Massaker

Also from Network Awesome and probably slightly more accessible, the always welcome 'Heavy Metal Parking Lot':

I'm raising this thread from the grave to say that Pallbearer's recent album Foundations of Burden is amazing. And doom-tastic. Loads of great riffs and that and a singer who sounds like Ozzy.

Also, I can't believe I wasn't on here last year saying how utterly fucking brilliant Sunbather by Deafheaven is. Though calling that album metal is somewhat reductive given the wide gamut it runs.
