I don't like these "artists" but like these songs - it doesn't keep me awake at night, much.

I hate his face, I hate his stage style, I hate his general attitude and his cliqueyness, I've hated everything he's done in the past and I expect to hate everything he does in the future, but just for three and a bit minutes...

Hate the Killers. But love "Read My Mind". Hmm.

Mostly it is the video.

I bought this when it came out and still love it. I can't quite hit the high notes, mind.

I find Mexican Kids At Home so dull that a coma would be preferable to seeing them live again, yet I think Female Thief is a great song.

yep, coldplay are pretty terrible but i reckon they have three great songs: "speed of sound", "talk" (which i guess is more kraftwerk than coldplay anyway) and "fix you" ... didn't like the latter until i saw the version fred performs in the fantastic documentary young @ heart. probably helps that an old guy who's singing with the aid of an oxygen tank and has just had one of his closest friends die can invest the song with a little more meaning and gravitas than chris martin can.

(it might seem a bit corny, but only because it's out of context. the film is well worth seeing)

pet shop boys totally rule, though.

Am I wrong for (sort of) liking the rapping Coldplay song with Jay-Z?

Also have you seen the video for the new coldplay single. It is properly amazing.

I was just going to come here to admit I quite like fix you. Even though it's in the classic Coldplay/Snow Patrol style of being so incredibly vague as to not be about anything.
I want to see young@heart as well.

I hate blink18poo almost as much as I hate guns, but I love that emo Cure one they did. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON ME YOU'RE ALREADY A VOICE INSIDE MY HEAD. It was all about the timing, and the fact that I am a loser.

If anyone could let me know why I'm listening to this at 10pm on a Friday night, could they let me know, please?

I pretended to like Thousand Yard Stare to get off with my now wife. 16 years of pretence has taken a terrible, terrible toll.
My apple pies go off today.

I did that with Happy Mondays years ago. She lives in Texas now.

There's a moral in that somewhere.

On a similar theme...

I've had 'Elephant Stone' by The Stone Roses in my head all morning. I like this song quite a lot, but I don't like The Stone Roses much at all.

Oooh, that's funny - I was singing 'Sally Cinnamon' to myself earlier on, for some reason.

Makes a change from the theme tune off In The Night Garden, anyway.
