Love that song so much. Reminds me of moving to Sheffield. Stupid music industry.

THIS SONG, after learning that Pythagoras was indeed the first European man ever recorded to wear trousers instead of a dress/skirt/toga. Killjoy git mathematician.

'Do You Dream at All' by Tilly & the Wall. For about a week.

It's making my heart go all funny.

'Sapphire' by the Smittens. Endlessly. It's those pa-pa-pahs that push you over the edge, isn't it?

Every time.

I've got Luna doing 'La Poupée qui fait non' on mine, from off of this little beauty:

Some of you must have that album, right?

Must look up the original version sometime.

That cover is so great and the original is impossibly Hollies-esque:

Just never, ever look up anything Michel Polnareff did after the sixties.

The Godzuki cover on Pop Romantique... oh oh oh.

I have but I'd forgotten all about it and haven't listened to it in years. I must rectify this.

Rectified! I think it must be almost fifteen years since I last listened to it. The Sukia track was probably my favourite, I must find out more about them.

I can't find that Luna song anywhere*. I used to love Luna until they did a cover of 'Sweet Child of Mine' and I went off them overnight.

My mental jukebox is playing various cut-ups of 'The Last Match' album by The Aislers Set. I only got it the other week (yes, I know...), and I'm getting to the point where I half know the songs, but only really the hooks, so I've got a constant revolving playlist of bits from 'The Way to Market Station', 'Hit The Snow', The Walk', 'Last Match' and 'Bang Bang Bang', intermitting with bits of the Belle and Sebastian album ('The tricks in your head are a lie, the tricks in your head...') and various Rocketship songs. My mental jukebox has become exhaustingly varied.

But 'The Last Match' is ace, isn't it.

*the two places I've bothered to look

Thirded.

I'm not saying it's the best indiepop album ever made, but it's probably in the top 1.
