Ha! The first band I ever searched for on the internet, using one of THREE pcs in the school library was Blonde Redhead. that threw up some rather exotic results 8-o

The software's been updated. You can have offline playlists on the computer now. Not sure if it's just for the premium people, though.

It is just for subscribers. As i didn't go to the pub last night I invested in a premium subscription for the offline caching for use on my netbook as well as the higher bitrate (320). I will tell you in a month's time if it was worth it!

Is anyone else off-put by the fact that the software updates itself without telling you?

Beautiful. I love their song 'Hearts on Fire'. Absolutely amazing vocals and lyrics.

Anything Gram/Emmylou makes me want to weep. They had such a short time together and it'd have been so nice if they were still making music together.

Also, I'm having a Dolly Parton moment.

Spotify really is a lovely thing, it's perfect for the lifestyle i'm coming back into now: Tons of time for being at home, studying studying studying. Perfect to have whatever soundtrack I fancy in a second.

That's a good playlist.

You can't go wrong with a bit of Guided By Voices in a playlist, or indeed a boatload :-

I made a country (ish) playlist but I'm not sure how to let other people know about it. There's a thing called "Copy HTTP Link" ... is that it?

I am new to spotify and have so far found that as soon as I open it, my mind goes entirely blank and I can't think of any band in the world. At one point I even found myself looking at my cds for inspiration, which is ridiculous. I might have to start making lists of what I want to listen to when not actually on it.

Me three. The amount of choice is terrifying, and results in me never really using it.

I think it's something they should look at. Relying on search ... Especially a really fussy and not very well done search isn't much help if you want browse. Browse by genre, Some useful info about bands and if you like that you may like this type features would be good. I'm being fussy, but then again if I'm paying for it ....

Maybe I'm doing it wrong. It seemed to work last night. If you edit the playlist after the event, does it then need a new link?

Ah, so they do in the main client. It's the iPhone client that doesn't. I've been using the iPhone client mostly. Looking at the main client there are quite a few useful features missing. Artist Radio would get a lot of use. I hope they put some more work into it.

Does this link work?
