This is dire. Oh Andy Bell, how did you become a substitute Bonehead?

Very true. And in Hurricane #1 in between, lest we forget (and, on balance, we should probably try to).

IIRC his floppier-fringed co-Rider Mark Gardner popped up on Benjamin Schoos's altogether more appealing album last year, though his contribution wasn't quite as lovely as that of Dame Laetitia of Sadier's. How could it be.

Oh lordy, is that a parody? It must be.

The rhyming of street, meet and defeat was particularly amusing.

In fact it made me think of the line in Porridge where Fletch says (1970s casual racism alert) "Show me a man who laughs at defeat and I'll show you a black chiropodist with a sense of humour".

Oh my. There just aren't the words, are there? Personal highlight was the birds" whistling to themselves".

Jesus Suzanne Christ. There really aren't words, are there - even the Gallaghers' cat-sat-mat feckwittery reads like Kafka next to the efforts of this risible man-foetus. Am I right in thinking we've got Alan McGee to thank for this?

Think you'd get pretty enormous odds on him producing a High Land, Hard Rain before he hits his twenties. Looks like at least some online organs think he's the nuts, though, e.g. http://louderthanwar.com/new-artist-of- ... mccullagh/

He's from Doncaster, so it seems we good burghers of South Yorkshire have two choices. Either we wait until Saturday week, and throw him under the hooves of whatever's leading the field in the St Leger; or we just tolerate him for a few years until he starts getting really, really arch and earnest and starts doing Razorlight-calibre photoshoots for us all to p*ss laughing at. Shall we start a poll?

This kid's only 15, right? It's about as good as most 15 year olds ought to be - fairly bobbins. I think the ire should be spared and used on anyone bigging him up instead.

I beg to differ that all music may by 15 year olds is necessarily rubbish. My son's band (sadly now no more, due to a chair throwing incident) were all 15-17 when they recorded their first EP and its a masterpiece compared to that.

I didn't mean that all music made by 15 year olds is bad, only that almost all of it is - the shit I came up with as a youth was proper guff. When kids that age come up with good tunes it's a wonderful surprise. There's a group doing the rounds Cambridge/Ely way called Holden Girls who are dead good and yet to take their GCSEs. http://holdengirls.bandcamp.com/

Unintentionally hilarious video. As far as I can make out, this song is about badgers and dodgy mushrooms.

This hilarious bunch emailed me asking for a gig. They got annoyed when I called them naff.

Sadly, that's the title of the song.

Dear bands, describing yourself as 'Top UK lads recapturing the noise' will not prick my interest I'm afraid.
