I love her voice very much. Their newest record came out this week on Magic Marker along with the Tullycraft one.

Here's one song, called Peppermint Patty
The Owls are nice. Somebody should put 'Air' up here.

Fans of Lime Chalks spin off bands and side projects may like to have a snifter at Rob Howards latest solo album which is downloadable on last.fm - http://www.last.fm/music/rob+howard/Gimme+Five" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And by me, I mean, Flexo.

"Air" is a brilliant song. The Owls are a vastly underrated band.

I was listening to that first album the other day and thinking about how no one apart from me, gloombutton, and RITH has ever mentioned them on here. This thread might actually begin with RITH posting some Owls.

I should actually read the whole page of a thread before I post. I see I've been quoted talking about the Owls up there.

It's not exactly in the spirit of this thread as it's not an mp3 you can eat, but you can listen to the song and some others (full tracks even!) on last.fm.

Air

This is the new-ish, or at least new-est, second single from SUPER AMAZING Glaswegian band ZOEY VAN GOEY.

I can't believe how good they are.

(But of course you already know that cause they played at Indietracks and you all went to Indietracks.)

Some of you might remember this tape. I've had three copies of this since it came out in the late 80s, but have lost them all. Anyway, here it is to download - there's some great stuff here. Apart from the Milltown Brothers... I especially love the New Morning, Bradford and Johnny Dangerously tracks.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/rmmjcp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Side One

The Man From Delmonte - Australia Fair

Inspiral Carpets - Joe

Pepplekade 14 - Uptown

New Morning - Working For The Payroll

The Waltones - Smile

Jean Go Solo - In Salford The Sun Doesn't Shine

Penny Priest - Sometimes
Side Two

James - Sky Is Falling

Bradford - Lust Roulette

The Railway Children - Sunflower Room

Johnny Dangerously - Subway Life

Milltown Brothers - Janice Is Gone

Raintree County - Nice Time At The Disco

Dub Sex - Instead Of Flowers (Dub Mix)

I'm pretty annoyed at last.fm because there's an emo band called Owls, and whenever I listen to THE Owls, it gets scrobbled as the wrong band.

And when I try to listen to Heavenly on Last.fm it makes me listen to a French Power Metal band of the same name. Which isn't that bad, actually. :)

Sorry they're by Luxembourg's ex frontman David Shah its his new electronic /pop project its kind of in the Magnetic fields vein, Initially very much a studio-based project, the Melting Ice Caps is now a going concern on the London gig circuit, and Shah has already received glowing reviews for these early (almost entirely solo) performances.More info here:

I saw on the Asaurus (RIP) site that they've uploaded their entire 3-cdr comp "you already have too many cdrs" (plus the artwork) and there are some gems on there! I am biased, though, since I downloaded it today to get an mp3 of a few of the songs I have on it. Anyhow, I recommend it!

I put a band from Japan on called Andersens on a few years ago, they were utterly spellbinding in a very mellow Architecture in Helsinki way.

They've done a new album to download for free here - http://andersens.jp/seesea/

I've not listened to it yet, but based on their previous stuff i'd have to highly recommend having a listen
