that WTF interview is awesome - felt like a good hour of hanging out with John Darnielle.
I second that recommendation!

Also he's going to be on the Maximum Fun Boat Party which would be fun if I was a millionaire.

Since when was John by himself billed under 'John Darnielle' rather than 'the Mountain Goats', though?

Unless he's doing stuff related to his book, I suppose.

Hey, so, semi-recently a musician from Newcastle called Andrew Lips got a Mountain Goats cover album together with various people. If anyone's interested in that kind of thing? People like Eric Ayote, Chris Clavin, Travels by Telephone and members of Martha and Ace Bushy Striptease on there.

it's quite good!

this whole post has felt awkawrd.

I think it's amazing All Hail was number one in the vinyl charts in America. I know it's not the same as the billboard 100, but little victories...

I would never have dreamed that it could happen.

yes, i was looking at the message board on the mountain goats site and saw that, curiously moving. impressive given that there will have been a lot of mailorder and smaller indie store (non-soundscan) sales. merge appear to have sold out of the first pressing.
