Madrid Popfest 2015: first batch of confirmations

Madrid, 11th September 2014

We’d like to announce you that we’re already working hard on Madrid Popfest’s Fith Edition!
First of all, we can let you know that it will take place on the 5th, 6th and 7th March 2015 at Sala Clamores (Madrid).

The first confirmed bands are:

- It is with great pleasure that we can announce what will be the first Aussie band to play at our festival: The Zebras. This
wonderful, elegant band from Melbourne will be visiting Spain for the first time, and it will be with their third album (‘Siesta’) freshly
released. After a long 6 years break, they come back with a bunch of crystalline and luminous songs which will be presenting
in Madrid for everyone’s joy.

- Univers come from Barcelona and they are one of the most promising national bands at the moment. They do not record
for Captured Tracks or Slumberland, neither are they from the US, but their songs – full of dark, raspy guitars – could easily
make one think so. Their first album, L’Estat Natural, is a unique marvel, as its reviews testify. If you like the sound of Crystal Stilts,
Girl Names or Veronica Falls, then you must make sure you don’t miss them.

- In the same line, but this time coming from Leeds, The Manhattan Love Suicides will also be visiting us. More noise
and more guitars, led by Darren and Caroline’s band, who already took part of the first Madrid Popfest edition as part of The
Blanche Hudson Weekend. They come back now with a new album after the break on 2009 and having played at the Oddbox
Weekender and Indietracks this year.

- At the opposite side of the pop spectrum, we are very happy to announce Band à Part, the creators of our first ever festival
tune, will be playing at next year’s Madrid Popfest. Coral and Javi will be revisiting their colourful discography full of tropical
rhythms, bossa, sunshine pop, jazz, electronic pop and any other label which may have the most genuine indiepop as its
reference.

We will soon be announcing tickets sale, which maintains its price of 30 Euros for the festival pass, and the dates of the next festival
launch parties.

I'm strongly considering making this my excuse to visit spain for the first time ever!

i'll try to persuade someone to come along for the experience, but in case i can't... does anyone feel like housing me? i'm super nice and very social :)

Hi Cupcake_love,
come and enjoy our festival !!

There is a lot of b&b hostages that are cheap and near to the centre.

It´s the perfect excuse to visit Madrid, an enjoyable city for sure.

In case you need some help please tell me.

Don't know if this is any use, but when we came over we stayed here:

It was lovely! Quite compact but absolutely perfect. Walking distance to all the venues and other nice stuff. Oh and really cheap too.
