Cheerio from the French Defence - and new releases!

Post by lloydybwoy » Thu Aug 28, 2014 11:00

Hi everyone!

Just a quick one to say that as of last night The French Defence is no more - after 10 years of plodding along it's time for a break and a breather. Thanks to everyone that's listened, come to gigs, put me on or said kind words. Particular thanks to the wonderful folks at Anorak in Limoges who have been super supportive, invited me to play in France and put the first record out!

Last year's album is still for sale on that Bandcamp - I've got a handful of physical copies left should anyone want one.

See you on the other side,

Owen x

Always sad when a (good) band decides it's time to call it a day.

(as for Leeds, guess it depends on yr definition of Indiepop (stop me!) - but Manhattans and City Yelps are both active again!)
not really here

Finnmark and The Seven Inches are definitely still going (unless I've missed a meeting and no-one's told me...)

Woh, I missed this! Aw. What a pity! I hope you'll be back making music under some other name, Owen. 'If You Still Want Him' will always remind me of Indietracks 2013. And I'll always feel guilty about my son falling asleep when you played at the Rutland Arms :)

Happy for seeing you live at Indiefjord and for buying the album, even if in digital and not in physical version. Good luck for everything you'll be doing!

Aw, cheers both! Yeah, I'll be doing something else at some point soon I dare say. Plus, there's still a load of unreleased bits and pieces, demos and stuff to mercilessly exploit for fun and profit...
