no ditching

Post by stolenwine » Tue Jan 07, 2014 00:31

i thought i'd start a thread for them since they don't seem to have one (and i don't know if it should be in the indiepop section anyway?!)

i love them and face ache was one of my favourite things from last year and one of the things i listened to the most. ALSO! they have a song about gilmore girls! i'm looking forward to hopefully finally seeing them live this year.

(i think it was anorak that introduced me to them, so thanks!)

'face ache' is perfect.

i looked at a live video on youtube and, as far as i can tell, they have someone in the band just to play a marching band drum! that is great.

Your assumption is correct. They really do.

What does the name mean? Is it a young people's thing?

i was gonna ask the same thing! i mean, in the states/canada "ditching" can mean skipping school/class or breaking up with a friend/boyfriend/girlfriend or generally just dropping someone/something. but i've never heard anyone say that here! so yeah. i dunno! but i want to know!

one of the best things about being in a band, is getting to play with other bands who you think are amazing, like no ditching. cant wait to see them again in a few weeks in sheff for my birthday :D

Cara's in Elopes, who are proper awesome. I think you'll almost certainly really like them if you've not already heard them.

No Ditching posted on Facebook earlier about wanting a gig on 14th Feb (they're playing Sheffield on 15th). Someone book 'em. You'd be a fool not to.

TAPE RELEASE OUT NOW ON TUFF ENUFF RECORDS, 3.5£

http://riotsnotdiets.bandcamp.com/album ... ce-ache-ep

Φ TUFF ENUFF RECORDS #TEMC09 Φ

small tape run of the amazing demo ep from Durham's NO DITCHING

grrrlgruppe No Ditching represent the latest pop-punk outpourings from Durham, seemingly the centre of the world right now for politically-conscious bratty punk DIY brilliance.

"'Peculiar snotty brilliance' from the sweatiest basement in Pity Me featuring members of Fashanu, Martha, Jazz in My Pants and Bear Park and Esh Colliery Band" quoth J. Phillippakis

The north-east's legacy of Slampt and/or Kenickie courses through this tape. ND are Laura, Naomi, Elle, Kate and Freya, they have a laugh. Influences cited: Rats, Gilmore Girls, bell hooks, bed
