in london they're playing shoreditch church, not sure how it compares to the scala capacity-wise but it's sold out. will go to the rough trade instore on february 6th instead.

am resisting the temptation to seek out the download so as to hear the album for the first time on my turntable. slumberland pre-order is up.

rough trade are doing another covers disc, wonder what'll be on it this time.

I wonder if it's because a lot of it sounds like a less trippy Comforts of Madness.

It does, doesn't it? I'm currently obsessed with Waiting for Something to Happen.

I can't stop listening to that one either! It's fucking incredible. The intro reminds me of 'You Shook Me All Night Long' too, which is also an amazing song.

the sleeve for the "teenage" 7" is pretty perfect (though it'd be even better if it the pic were of a band member ... it isn't, is it?)

Nope, that's not either Roxanne or Marion. I've had Teenage stuck in my head all day. It's a brilliant pop song, so simple.

James and Patrick are DJing at Scared To Dance on Sat 23rd Feb. They'll also be compiling our podcast for next month with songs that inspired Waiting for Something to Happen.

i'm really loving the new album as well! it's pretty much perfect.

i'd love to hear them do a cover of a lush song. "hey hey helen" would sound so great!

I'm not loving it as much as the last one... but there's 3 or 4 songs on it that if they were on an ep it would be the killingest killermost ep ever... maybe the other songs'll seep in and take hold over time

I'm hoping it's a grower... jeez, how many times have I been on the receiving end of that line

According to Rough Trade the covers are of Homeblitz, Dylan, The Rats, The Moles and The La's. No idea which songs though.

Oh yeah, one extra track on the vinyl version compared to the CD release.

Wow. I'm a fan of both bands but that's surprising. I wonder which song? Ween have got a lot of great songs but a lot of really weird ones as well.

Might even venture out the house to see 'em when they're over here! That's sayin something.

If Veronica Falls are "not indiepop", does indiepop actually exist?

Are you asking for northernlight to be tried before the hallowed court of Anorak?

Perhaps he can explain himself, unless somebody else switched it after the thread was begat?

I dunno

Sometimes I use my admin superpowers to leave obvious my-heart-flutters-and-I-feel-seven-feet-tall indiepop things in the non-indiepop forum just so I can pretend I'm a mature person who is totally au fait with other genres, like 'non-indiepop'.

New record is "best indiepop album of all-time", screams The Guardian.
