I love Pipas. Who else does?

I love Pipas, but only since recently, it's been quite sudden and with a lot of hungry desire on my part

they soundtrack all those inbetween moments and hours rather perfectly

I wish I'd been listening to them since forever

do they play live, sam?

They sure do. They're wonderfully ramshackle live.

I travelled down to London and back up again in the same night a couple of years ago because there was a rumour going round that it was their last gig. It wasn't. Spiral Scratch put them on a couple of months later. So I went to that as well.

They haven't played in the UK for ages now, though, cos neither of them are living here at the moment, I don't think.

Yeah - our first ever Spiral Scratch gig that was, just over a year ago now.

Mark lives in New York and I think Lupe is in Spain now. They only seem to play live when Lupe goes to America.

I hope they do play again in the UK, the live shows are very endearing and cute.

I think they are pretty much perfect in every respect. 'Jean C', 'Barbapapa', 'Run Run Run', 'Riff Raff', 'Rock and/or Roll'... There's no such thing as an underwhelming song with them. I love them.

so, is her job, like, to write about stuff that people want to buy?

and does that mean she IS in the country. and that they will come and play in a town near me soon?

I am not quite sure what her job is but I know she's back in London. But Mark's in the States so I don't think they'll be playing any time soon.

today mr.stolenwine and i paused the t.v and put on a cat escaped because we both had had pipas in our head all day. we listened to the whole thing really loud whilst lying on the couch and it was the best thing ever.

aren't pipas just the greatest?

Yeah, they are the best. I had Golden Square on repeat today. I think that must be my favourite pipas record.

I hope they will play again someday.

Ian - if you do hear whether they're playing then I think they should play Indietracks. Or at least send them up north to me.

Listening to Pipas at work makes a stressful day seem a whole lot easier, I have to say.

Anyone got any news as to whether they might be playing or releasing anything soon?

Sam, Lupe has a new side project with Alasdair from Clientele, Amor de dias. I saw them at the Pines' gig and I really like them. As always, Lupe’s voice is swoonsome!

Only three words: LUPE LUPE LUPE!
