Hee! He gave the same intro before "Crazy" at their London show. Aw. I wish I could have road-tripped around to all of their UK gigs.

Thanks for the video! How I love them.

The whisper is that there may be some UK dates around the time of Indietracks.

Stoke should be one but I'm not sure that their plans are that far down the line as yet, regarding other shows.

They should definitely play in Nottingham again, too.

I'm giving the new album a first (downloaded) spin right now. It's been a long wait, but very worth it.

Favourite track on the album so far is "That's When My Headaches Begin".

How completely out of the blue but utterly darling! How....? Did this come about? You? Who wrote that opening paragraph? It nicely encapsulates the way Stefan talks I think. The picture of him in the football cards amongst the players is cute too! I love this. How bizarre but nice to read. I like reading about the interests, knowledge and hobbies of musicians (other than their passion for music).
Copenhagen-based Northern Portrait remain relatively unknown in this country but it can only be a matter of time before someone influential hears their quintessential English sound and breaks them over here. Their first two EPs 'The Fallen Aristocracy' and 'Napoleon Sweetheart EP' were released to critical acclaim in 2008, while debut album 'Criminal Art Lovers' will have fans of The Smiths digging out the gladioli and contemplating whether they can still get away with sporting a quiff. Signed to Matinee Recordings, Northern Portrait combine a driven, jangling guitar sound with vocalist Stefan Larsen's complex, wry and always dry lyrics. Larsen has said in the past 'to me sophistication is about taste, refinement and complexity'; if you'd like to think you're any of the aforementioned, get your hands on 'Criminal Art Lovers' before Northern Portrait are on the front of the NME.
I also like the sound of this Club: BK Frem (2nd Division working class club from Copenhagen, est. 1886). I really don't follow football but I do follow Copenhagen and like learning about local history and eccentricities. <3

Look! Here's what seems to be a new video for 'Crazy'. I love the vintage colouring and tone of the video. I think it matches their sound really well. It also looks like they're playing in my high school's auditorium. And isn't Caspar (the bass player) just the cutest? I love his smile.

Just saw this thread, and have been a huge fan of this band since I saw them at IndieTracks. Fantastic album in "Criminal Art Lovers", and now hearing their cover of Sir Cliff's "Some People" for the first time - genius! Any other hidden gems I should know about?

"haha, i bet caspers a real heartbreaker".

I bet you are right about that !

Casper is behind the poptastic Champagne Riot too !
Their song "Ingrid Bergman" is such a catchy gem, after listening to it for some time now it will have to be surgically removed from my brain.

I always wonder how somebody can be in two brilliant bands at the same time.

I really love the new single. It's proper autumnal, and that, and has cheered me up on a horrible day.

Does anyone know if the EP is going to be available anywhere in the UK soon? I have almost bought it on several occasions, but then my bank card has had a little shiver and shed a little tear when seeing the postage from America.

Will it perhaps be in Normans and Pebble?
