Yeah, it was a brilliant gig by the BEST indiepop band EVER!! It wasn't that busy but it had everything: harmonies, jangly Rickenbackers to die for, hillarious storytelling between the songs, cut-out jeans :-) lovely australian accents. Their songs simply epitomise the very essence of indiepop music - you don't need anything else, do you?! It's so sad that these are gonna be their last gigs ever- still I can't believe it...

Tonight's gig will possibly top everyhting I've seen so far. For the time being enjoy these,
PS: Pete, there is still time to make it to the gig tonight - a once in a lifetime opportunity, don't miss out :-))

It did feel like quite a relaxed warm-up for the 'big' show tonight.
Still great though.

Aw, I'm glad you'll finally be seeing them!

I haven't looked at any of the set lists from their recent shows because I want to be surprised. I hope I don't cry!
Has anyone got a link to some set lists from this tour? I fancy a look.

Dear Lucksmiths, please stop off outside Stourbridge Job Centre tomorrow on your way from London to Glasgow.

We (Lichen Weights and I) had a Lucksmith working in our local 'Fresh and Wild'. He never once did an impromptu concert. That I recall.

I think it's bold of them to take requests! They've got quite the catalogue of songs to try and recall. Wow, what would I request... Don't think I've heard "Can't Believe My Eyes" live before. Oooh.
There's more than one use for every part

If i get to see the lucksmiths again you can remove my skin with a rusty cheese grater. I fully intended to be AT tonights gig til last night.

I'm sure they'd LOVE Stourbridge, It's got TWO train stations, and TWO biker pubs. If you could pass that information on to them tonight, please?

The one in Stoke Newington, you mean? I think Mark wrote a song about that.

another superb show, so sad that that's it for me seeing the lucksmiths live but the last 2 days have been special, 2 vastly different setlists at the 2 gigs and hard for me to separate them in quality. It was strange seeing so many people at a lucksmiths gig tonight though.

oh and Daniel Kitson was hilarious! it worked really well

that's a decent set list! I always feel every time I've seen them that I just want them to play every song - and that I'm thankful for every song they sing or word they say. They have certainly inspired so many of us - I know many friends who got their energy for making indiepop from seeing and feeling what a lucksmiths show felt like. i don't feel like hifalutin' words are appropriate for some reason, but i feel pretty strongly about how important this band is/was. kinda like seeing a jonathan richman show in terms of massive impact.

i wish I coulda been there, but for some reason it makes me extra happy that michael zakes was there!
I say him in the other picture in the crowd! I'm glad some folks I know were able to be there. for me, it's worse than michael jackson - having them call it over, but at the same time i want to be respectful of whatever choices the people i support make. and I'm happy for the times we had. i look forward to whatever any of them do.

i hope all the shows are amazing!

yow!

ps- obviously drinking and rambling....
being nice IS a political act!
