she also sang on the rather good s/t album by the fog and ocean (555) -- something of a supergroup as the other members of the band were david nichols, jen turrell, stewart anderson, andrew withycombe & greg wadley.

A little bird told me they're doing a European tour in July. Does anyone know anything about that?

Sidenote - what's everyone's favourite Lucksmiths song? Mine changes all the time, but at the moment, Frisbee is just about perfect.

why that doesn't surprise me is by far my favourite lucksmiths album so i guess my favourite song would be something from that. i like that it's musically more sombre than most of their other releases. live, i probably enjoy "untidy towns" best.

don't know when it will be out, but your heart breaks have an excellent new song that borrows from/ twists the chorus of "the great dividing range" very effectively.

Who's putting that out? i've got their P-I-X album and it's totally, totally awesome. That song Mix Tapes has gone on plenty of, er, mix tapes in the last year. That and 120 Proof.

Aces. If you do, make sure you get them to play Under the Rotunda so we can all pretend they're singing about Birmingham.

That and it's a lovely song of course.
And by me, I mean, Flexo.

Smileface to the max! Even if it was just London, I'd probably still go.

Oooo! Good news! Lucksmiths is the only band I've travelled to another city for just to get to see live. But then they added an Oslo date before the Stockholm one, so I even got to see them two days in a row. I'd definitely do that again. Glasgow! London! Oslo!

They need to make it the day before or after your Smittens gig. That's what they need to do!

Incredible news, isn't it? :-) It made my day!
I am going to Hamburg (show confirmed) unless they are playing a gig in Stockholm (a little bird told me that they will be playing in sweden, though it's not confirmed yet). And possibly all the shows outside London as well.

Dimitra, I hate to disappoint you but I was told they will be in Europe only for 2 to 3 weeks maximum - don't think they are playing Indietracks. You and Martijn are coming to London though, aren't you?

Isn't Danielle Steel the quintessential Lucksmiths song? Those lyrics about "a lonely librarian who has the mind of Sharon Stone and the heart of Danielle Steel" are among the funniest I've ever heard. I remember an interview with Mark for Gutless zine where he was asked what lucksmiths song he would pick if he had to play it for a grandmother in order to try to get her to like the band. Mark replied that "How Much I Love You" makes all ladies swoon- even the grannies !!! ha ha
I slice the surface here beside you/Lungs filled liquid yell I love you/Sound moves further underwater
Deep and dark my submarine bells groan in greens and grey/Mine would chime a thousand times/To make you feel okay..
