Hello

We're pleased to tell you that our new single, Footsteps, is released this week! It is available on iTunes, but you can also download it absolutely free from http://www.box.net/shared/rns5yo9bd1

We've had lots of lovely reviews so far, this one from Fire Escape Talking sums it up nicely http://fireescapetalking.blogspot.com/2 ... steps.html

Thank you, hope you enjoy the single.

Hello

We've got some news.

We play a free gig tomorrow night at Brixton Jamm in London with Northern Potrait, Standard Fare and Moustache of Insanity - it's the start of our Indetracks holiday!

Andy did a lovely interview with 'The Dumbing of America' here: http://thedumbingofamerica.net/2009/07/ ... cketbooks/

The album finally came out officially last week so you can buy it in the shops and your favourite mailorders now. Lots of nice review summaries here: http://www.howdoesitfeel.co.uk/press.html

See you tomorrow or at Indietracks hopefully.

Brilliant stuff, Ian. It couldn't happen to a nicer, better, more creamy band.

We've got more news.

Our album's being released in Japan today on the Happy Prince label.

It's one of those special edition things like what you used to pay 23 quid for in HMV in the import section.

All the tracks from the Waking Up EP are included along with Summertime and the Footsteps video and some slightly differing artwork.

Do Pocketbooks have a big following in Serbia? The amount of people from Serbia who end up on my blog whilst searching for the band in Google is amazing.

Or I suppose "pocketbooks" could mean something altogether unsavoury in Serbia...

At last! I'm a porn magnate.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

This is by far the funniest, and greatest thing, that's ever happened to my little label.

Last night, Pocketbooks got MASHED UP, as part of the Radio One Kissy Sell Out electro show! Reeeespec! Mr Kissy Sell out threw down a MASSIVE breakbeat behind them, gave them a HUGE SHOUT OUT to his massive, then talked all over the track, played a little bit more, then went onto the next bit of his huge megamix thingy.

Funniest thing is that I've always said that another of their songs - "The Outskirts Of Town" - is crying out for a techno remix, because it builds just like a techno song, drums coming in slowly then building up and up and up. But I never thought the song that was chosen - "Fleeting Moments" - would get DONE OVER inna Radio 1 styleee!

Anyway, it's great and very funny and Kissy Sell Out is now my new favourite show. You can listen back to it here:

Listen from 1.46 onwards...

It's not the whole song by the way, just a segment as part of a much longer megamix mash up thing, and he mostly talks all over it, about other shows up coming up and so forth, but it's still brilliant to hear a massive breakbeat behind the song and it being used in that context. But it's not really something you could play at a club or would make any sense if it were played at a club. It would be like turning on the radio suddenly.
