Thanks for that. That website actually is very clear about them being close to Newcastle. No clue why google would place them in Golders Green...

Gonna book me a boat then.
Are you the same niels that sold me my ticket to B&S at the Astoria in 2003? The one that used to be on Bowlie?
Yawn.

Hiya
I'm new to the forum.
hope you're all well.
I got into Belle and Sebastian at the tail end of 96 when John peel played Fox in the Snow ( I think it was Peel? could have been Mark and lard on before) but i noted it down anyway and investigated as I loved their 'sound')
Bought all of the early ep's as they came out,and 'If your Feeling Sinister' in April 97 (played to death) and got hold of a very sought after at the time copy of Tiger Milk on tape from Jangly Marc that Summer.
Boy with the Arab Strap came out in September 98 and then 2 more ep's down the line I was done after 'Fold Your Hands Child...'

The albums after that were happy clappy and didnt have the 'sound' anymore, I bought them all but have played them once and put them back in the record shelf. they just don't appeal like 'Sinister'

The first few EP's and first 3 albums are absolutely 'it' and created a new breed of the 'pop fan' again.
That period continues to make me happy into the 2010's and probably forever woo!

Study at Stow!
x

Yup, that'd be me :-) When Bowlie went down and B&S went asleep I also started doign other things.

But now they're back, and I'm listening to all these old recordings and bootlegs again. Got me all exited so I figured I'd check this place out.

i actually might be living in glasgow then (if i can find a contract for 1-2 months) GLASGOW ANORAK MEETUP.

the first time i ever saw b&s was glasgow barrowlands. i met some awesome people i'm still friends with now! i still remember the bagpipe playing and monica queen coming out as a surprise guest.

also, some guy peed in his pants before the gig.

No, the Barrowlands always smells like that.

Just booked Manchester Apollo tickets, although it's entirely seated. Usually the stalls (bottom) is standing and I hate sitting in the top tier so I just took a guess. Gah, I bet I end up in the top tier.

I'm going to DMH as well. Got my tickets on pre sale last wednesday and it came to about £32 after booking fee!. then realised I lived ten minute walk from DMH and kicked myself when I realised I could have just walked down there and got them :(

I very nearly did that. 'What if they sell out?' I thought. Then I realised that it probably will sell out, but in November.

I still got there ten minutes before they went on sale though

Had a friend pull out of the Manchester gig so I have one single seat available (towards the front of the upper tier). Face value: £30. PM if interested.

Anyone know who the support acts are for the December dates yet? I can't decide if to go or not as the tickets are litlle bit on the pricey side for me.. If the support band/bands are good then it will be worth going - if not then I might just stay at home in front of the fire! Bournemouth's a cold place in the winter..
