There's a kickstarter page where you can pledge money towards the promotion of the release. It's basically like pre-ordering and you won't get charged unless the project reaches its goal (currently $400 has been pledged and the goal is $1000) and you can get a bunch of stuff like t-shirts and things thrown in.

Hmmm. That's about it.
Dick head. At least look at the board to see if someone hasn't already made an entire post about this very album.

Just spotted this from a recent Tullycraft blog post:
Tullycraft is still officially on a break, but there have been rumblings about perhaps writing and recording new music. Stay tuned.
Colour me excited.

Finally.

I was under the impression that they had stopped doing live shows but were still writing and recording.

I think somebody needs to start up a Tullycraft encyclopedia to document everything that they make references and allusions to in their songs. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Fields-6 ... 0826419259

This post inspired by their version of "On Tape."

This from The Middle blog:
http://middlemusic.net/features/tollefsonfeature.html

The news that the band has got back together, and is starting to practice again will please most, but Sean’s answers led to another question: why? For a band like Tullycraft, together for 15 years, and achieving success that usually evades bands who strive so strongly to remain independent – Tullycraft famously release their material only on independently owned and operated record labels – what is there left to achieve?

“That’s a great question,” says Sean, taking a moment to collect his thoughts, “I guess I'm not sure what we've achieved to this point? Do I think a new album would introduce Tullycraft to a new and larger audience? Absolutely not. I know that we will always be an obscure indiepop band with a handful of fans, if we’re lucky. I'm also not so naive as to think that we'd release anything that will garner more attention than "Pop Songs Your New Boyfriend's Too Stupid To Know About" or "Twee." For better or worse we will always live in the shadow of those songs.

But for me personally, I think I've become a better songwriter. I'm aware that most of the audience will always be partial to the old songs. Does anyone really care when Duran Duran release a new album? Most people only want to hear songs from the first three albums. But Duran Duran are a working band and I can only assume they enjoy the creative process of making new music. I don't think we're any different.”

Funnily enough "Twee" and "Pop Songs..." are my two least favourite Tullycraft songs. They written loads of songs that are way better than those IMO - pretty much all of "Disenchanted Hearts Unite" for a start...

Still, great news! Please book them for Popfest...!

I just got the answers back from my interview with them for the next Candy Twist zine and this part I already want to share with you:

Sean: This time around we tracked everything in Protools with a terrific engineer, Pete Remine, and somehow we convinced famed producer Phil Ek (The Shins, Band of Horses, The Halo Benders, Fleet Foxes, Built to Spill) to mix the album.

Curious how that will influence their sound. I'm excited, to say the least.

Any idea where to find comprehensive lyrics online?

I found the odd song via Google but nothing complete. Their website has a page labeled "Lyrics" but there's nothing there.

I'm not a massive fan of the band, but the b-side to the new single, 'Bad Connection', is really, really ace.

I didn't think I was really a fan either, but this is great, and the A-side is even better! It arrived in the post today as part of one of these newfangled "singles clubs" that all the kids and their record labels are doing these days.

Listening to the new album on Spotify, the beginning is very promising.

And at the end of the first listening I am totally in love with this album.

Been listening to the album fairly obsessively over the past couple of months. It is an absolute belter!

Is this about the time to say you can order the cassette (with download) from the Fika shop? We've just about finished hand making all 100 and they're looking lovely. Comes with all the usual nonsense I do for these cassettes!

I hear that the LPs and CDs have almost finally made their way to Fortuna Pop HQ in the UK and should be with Magik Marker in the USA now too, if you're more of a LP/CD kinda person... you should be able to pre-order from either now!

Last year I bought the Allo Darlin' cassette at indietracks, I'm planning to do the same with this one this year. I hope they are not selling out before...

Slated absolutely to be a top of the year. Let's hope they come out of tour-hiatus for this one...
