Re: Your Indietracks 2019 wishlist
Off the top of my head:
Art Brut (new album out soon apparently!)
The Spook School
Jeffrey Lewis
Slow Club (if they exist any more)
Kimya Dawson
Martha
Courtney Barnett (too big though)
Peaness
Fresh
The organisers do a good enough job so I'm sure I will be happy with whoever plays!

Re: Your Indietracks 2019 wishlist
Seconded! I missed them last time because we clashed with them, was absolutely gutted.
Anyone know what's going on with their new album by any chance? It was supposed to come out last year I think but everything went quiet.

Thee Mighties
Chrissy Barnacle
Heavy Lids

James Figurine
Lush

I'm not particularly a fan of the Go-Betweens but Robert Forster sounds like a good shout in terms of a headliner who hasn't played before and would be quite a big draw

Re: Your Indietracks 2019 wishlist
Mmm. I've been thinking about this for a while now - there are a fair number of Britpop bands who are currently undergoing the revival thing (or who never entirely went away) and I do wonder what folks would think about one of them turning up at Indietracks. Whilst I am a massive Britpop-era nerd who still listens to Echobelly far more often than is advised I would be quite excited initially to see some of my former heroes at Butterley, but... generally I have a feeling that:
a. They might be quite pricey
b. There's a risk that they could attract attendees who are not necessarily entirely Indietracksy (not meant as a slur but thinking about Tonieee's awful experience this year there have been occasions when a subset of certain bands' fans (Weddoes, Teenage Fanclub etc) haven't quite gelled with the usual atmosphere and ethos of the festival - usually those who are there just for the day.)
c. The festival is becoming more diverse in its outlook and in the bands that are booked (hurrah! Still a long way to go mind), and depending on the band it could feel a little like a retrograde step?
I say this as someone who was desperate to see Lush at Indietracks when they reformed, as someone who would totally want Kenickie there if that was ever a possibility, etc. But maybe it's not the place for this - there are, after all, plenty of other opportunities to see Sleeper, My Life Story et al at Butlins and thereabouts.
Anyhoo. Just some thoughts. They might not necessarily be good ones.

Re: Your Indietracks 2019 wishlist
Yeah, that's why I'd be a bit nervous about Indietracks having HMHB on. I know most of their fans are probably very nice, perhaps I'm just being a bit mean, I dunno, but.lloydybwoy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 16:29b. Do you reckon that could be a thing with the Britpop set generally? I suppose it depends a bit. It never occurred to me that Lush might bring a bunch of overgrown laaaaadz with them, but then I've never really thought of Lush as Britpop.
