Don't want to repeat names of excellent suggestions that have already cropped up so instead will throw

The John Candy

and

The Sorry Shop

into the mix.

no, no, that's the idea (I think... isn't it?), the bands that get the most votes, um, don't necessarily get chosen but, um, it's definitely, so I'm assured, of interest to team indietracks... I suppose they could just be humouring me...

I believe Ms Hall has a spreadsheet she lovingly updates with a little X (or character of her choice) whenever a band gets mentioned and somewhere along the line, a random and very helpful member of this forum will provide updates as to who is top of the 'tracks pops, and then they get invited to play or something, and it's all one glorious example of people power.

So yeah, repeating names is a good thing.

I should make it clear it is only one vote per band per poster too

I think emma takes exception to any attempts at vote-rigging

the first bit is for real, the second bit is probably for real but mostly invented by me

Ah okay it's some sort of popularity contest then..

My liberal hearted wishy washyness usually forbades me from such things but, whatever, consider more love for

Horowitz
Wave Pictures
The Choo Choo Trains
Frozy
Tullycraft

and if I'm allowed to indulge some of my more highly unlikely whims I will go ahead and stick

The Mountaingoats

in there.

Apart from the usual suspects, can we have:

Mountain Goats/John D solo
Darren Hanlon
Last Leaves
Islands
Eux Autres
Sharon Van Etten
British Sea Power
Hari and Aino
Pushy Parents
Mates of State
Jason Anderson
Kid Canaveral
Architecture in Helsinki
The Thermals

I realise some of these may not be totally "indietracks".

Asobi Seksu
Bears
Hibbett in whichever form he wishes to take
Downdime (they are Terrifyingly Good at the moment)
Charles of the Ritz
Club 8 - do they actually play live any more?

and 2013 is DEFINITELY going to be the year the French Defence play. Maybe. Probably not, if past attempts are anything to go by.

TULLYCRAFT
HELEN LOVE

I need a break after all that excitement. The following would be mighty fine too.

Eux Autres
Little Hands Of Asphalt
Bis
Making Marks
The Pastels
A Smile And A Ribbon
The Very Most
Red Shoe Diaries
Bearsuit
Owl & Mouse
The Andersen Tapes

and Strip Squad and Awesome Animal Ambulance would be awesome because I never got to see them and they don't exist any more.

Not as far as I know. Though Martin is part of A Smile And A Ribbon. And their new album is apparently a touch on the rude side too (though I've not been allowed to hear any of it yet, hmph).

Going to do a whole DJ set of very rude indiepop very soon. Ruder than Nicki Minaj.

It's a fantasy list but having seen the Monochrome Set here's a few bands I'd like to reform and play:

Velocette
Microdisney
Heavenly
Field Mice
Hepburns
Shop Assistants
Melons
Nightingales
Orange Juice
Pale Fountains
Pale Saints
Voodoo Queens
The Chills

I love making an indiepop wish list! I was waiting for this thread to appear. My list is a mixture of bands who've recently put out brilliant releases (Burning Hearts, Azure Blue), bands who've never played Indietracks (Julian Henry/The Hit Parade, Days, Los Ginkas), and stark omissions from this year (Cats on Fire!). Fun!

UK
Birdie/The Bark Flares
BMX Bandits
Bubblegum Lemonade/Strawberry Whiplash
The Cavalcade
Charlie Big Time
Cineplexx
Close Lobsters
The Deddingtons
The Felt Tips
The Hit Parade/Julian Henry
Strange Idols (they’re up for it!)
The Tuts
The Wake
Wake the President
Would-Be-Goods

Europe
Acid House Kings
Azure Blue
Burning Hearts
CATS ON FIRE!
Cocoanut Groove
Cola Jet Set
Days
The Electric Pop Group
The Garlands
Hidden Cameras
Je Suis Animal
Los Ginkas
Northern Portrait
Pushy Parents
Sambassadeur
Sundae
Twig
Youngfuck
Zipper

Rest of World
The Aislers Set
Astrolab
The Ballet
The Bats
Dream Diary
The Holiday Crowd
Moscow Olympics
Pale Lights
Pale Sunday
Persian Rugs
The Secret History
Sleuth
Soda Shop
Summer Cats
Tiny Fireflies
There's more than one use for every part
