Your Indietracks 2013 wishlist

Post by Dan Pop-o-matic » Sun Aug 19, 2012 17:27

Saw there wasn't a wishlist thread yet, so thought I may as well start one.

I should like the following bands to play:

August Actually
Mini Skips
Oxo Foxo (fully electric version with the loop pedals etc)
Nature Set
Lovely Eggs
Bob Mould
Northern Spies
Real Estate
Mini Hoot (we'll definitely exist by then)
Bitchtape
David Leach
Thyme Machine
The Polyphonic Spree

I'll think of more I'm sure...

I'd love to see Lardpony play too. Only saw them (you) once. Thought you'd stopped?

We did, but now we're creaking back into motion! We will hopefully be back in full flow by next summer.

Zoey Van Goey

There are some great ideas here already, I would come to this festival (hahaha, like that was ever in question).

Northern Spies... nice one Dan... that's a great idea (Northern Spies is Astrid) - http://soundcloud.com/northernspies

I will whole heatedly plus one that suggestion as well as plus-one-ing:
August Actually
Oxo Foxo
Tullycraft
Cars Can Be Blue
Horowitz
Pipas
Jens Lekman
The Wave Pictures
Bearsuit
Lardpony
The Magnetic Fields
Knickers
Haiku Salut

Who to add? Hmmm...

Is it too early for The Sweet Nothings to play again? I'd love to see them on the outdoor stage.

I'd like to see another HoTMIM set, but then of course I am a bit biased there.

I know we can't have The Smittens again, but that would be ace.

Missy Bly for a solo set? She was pretty great when she played here in Stockholm.

Now this is going to get very biased towards Scandinavia, Sweden and in particular Stockholm, but then I guess that's to be expected considering where I now live:
Cocoanut Groove
The Little Hands of Asphalt
The Garlands
Top Sound
The Lost Homeboys
Suburban Kids with Biblical Names
Cats on Fire / Vasas Flora and Fauna / Iiris Viljanen

Dan! For various reasons, thank you for starting this thread. It means I can log into anorak again without wincing.

I'd like to see Tunabunny, Hellfire Sermons, Lardpony, Shrag, Pale Sunday, All Girl Summer Fun Band, Peru, and always, always Pipas.

fantasy daydream stuff but not entirely impossible:
robert forster
vic godard
the pastels
aislers set
henry's dress
the softies

I agree with people who said the following:
jonathan richman (also 'fantasy daydream stuff but not entirely impossible')
calvin johnson
pipas
tunabunny
shrag
milky wimpshake
the wendy darlings
sock puppets
frozy
martha
ONSIND
horowitz
humousexual
the great leap forward
a smile and a ribbon
haiku salut
lardpony

stuff I'd like to see not mentioned yet
sourpatch
fireworks
pocketbooks
cee bee beaumont (would be perfect in the church)
fabienne delsol
the fenestration (also would be perfect in the church)

band who should get the instant win 'return ticket'
orca team and spook school (rules are there to be broken)
sea lions too (if rules are being smashed to smithereens)

I'll have missed out a bunch, I'm sure

- Falling & Laughing
- Hibbett playing in 12 different bands
- HotMIM
- Wave Pictures
- Northern Spies
- One Happy Island
- Hillary and the Democrats
- Nordenfelt
- The Mini Skips
- Knickers

Not if Finchley Ted has anything to say about it.

Yes, Pocketbooks, I didn't think of that, a valid point!
