Getting to Indietracks from Nottingham

Post by blackboxrecorder » Sun Jul 01, 2012 10:48

A friend and I are attending Indietracks for the first time. We will be staying in Nottingham. Does anyone have any suggestions what might be the best way of getting to Indietracks and back to Nottingham? I am a bad driver and being German, I am not used to driving on the left side. Thus, renting a car is not an option.

You can either get a taxi, which will cost you around £25, or get the Red Arrow bus from the city centre: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/ ... -and-times - and get off at Ripley and walk down.

It's probably best to get a taxi back each night, though. Try calling 0115 9818181 for a taxi.

Also, if you're in town the night before please come along to this! http://www.anorakforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5608

Thank you, that's very helpful. Are there any taxis waiting at the festival site or do I have to order one in advance?

I'd recommend booking in advance and meeting the taxi at butterley railway station, trains go from the midland railway site to butterley usually until about 12.30am (citation needed... one of team indietracks might want to confirm this)

taxis will not be able to get close to the midland railway site so butterley railway station is the best place to suggest for a taxi pick up, lots of parking and a forecourt area they and you can wait on if needs be

I think the last train to Butterley leaves at midnight, not 12.30. Otherwise very good advice - please order any taxis to Butterley (not Swanwick) everyone!

Last bus to Nottingham from Ripley marketplace is at 11:05- https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/ ... -and-times Do you reckon there would be enough time after the last band to get that?

Last bus on a Sunday is 10:30 though...

bengi, it might be worth having a look over here: http://www.anorakforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=5840

you might find somebody to share a cab or minibus with back to nottingham (on the sunday, at least), split the costs it can work out very reasonably, plus you may get to stay a little longer rather than rushing to catch the last bus back
