That's what I did that year. Photographic evidence of me and Ian Horowitz on Facebook somewhere.

OOPS ! I don't think I specified anything, that's probably why I can't find anything to print... What should I do ?
Did you get an e-mail from the Midland Railway (data@midlandrailwaycentre.co.uk)? That's what I have and within that there's a link to print tickets.

I've got a question about the Golden Valley camping. We're staying at the Travelodge but we'd love to go to the campsite disco on Sunday night. Do you know if there's a cheap way to "book" there on Sunday night and be allowed to get in to dance? (I guess the camping staff might be surprised to see us without any tent for the get-in...).

Unfortunately the campsite are very strict on the discos being only for campers, and they also have a 3 night minimum stay this year so you can't pay for single nights. Sorry Joanny!

Hello there!

We're staying at the Moss Cottage, and I can see (via the magic of google maps) that this is about 1.5 miles from Butterley Station. But just wondering about all that field there, and me being a bit of a lazy arse... is there a cut across the fields direct to Swanwick Junction? Or is it basically a walk up the main road round the back of that big police place to Butterley Station?

I could get a taxi, I suppose. But if it's a sunny day... (aside: I'm tight-fisted)

Perhaps we can form a Moss Cottage Ramblers group....no?

When I phoned up to book for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) they didn't have a problem with that. Not that that solves joanny's issue. Just that they didn't enforce a 3 night stay with me. Unless they try to charge me for that when I arrive. They'd better not try to charge me for that when I arrive.

Moss Cottage is down on the A610, right? I dunno if there's a way across the fields (maybe someone else does?) but you could certainly walk down with us as far as Ripley Premier Inn and just follow the road from there. Or maybe you'd be better off just getting a cab.

Someone will know!

You can go the other way and turn right out of moss cottage and in through the small industrial estate and up past the camp site. Should only take you half an hour.

Thought that may be a possibility. Great. Cheers Sam.

I keep daydreaming that Moss Cottage, is, in fact, an actual cottage run by actual Moss from the actual IT Crowd.

when in fact in my daydreams it's an actual cottage full of actual moss on every surface and very dank underfoot and slippy and if you sit down, let alone lie down, in one place for too long you too become covered in moss and veg like stephen king in the first creepshow 'film' or that woman who turns into broccoli in 'garth marenghi's darkplace'

I do so hope none of that happens for all concerned

Another question from this eager first timer. Just trying to get my band schedule sorted and I was wondering how crowded does the Church get, i.e. do you need to get there really early to get in or can you wander up 5 minutes before and get in no problem? I know it depends on the popularity of the band, but to give a flavour the two I have on my hit list as must sees in the church are Joanna Gruesome and September Girls.

You're already too late. The rest of us are sat here.

It gets pretty busy, so you probably want to go and see the band before and stay in your seat. It can get quite sweaty in there, though, so wear a light chemise.

Cheers for the response! Not sure I've got a chemise so I'll add that to the list of things to buy on the way up.
