Hmm. Things you could try.

Find a way to resite the wireless router to somewhere more central / with fewer walls in the way / both
Run some ethernet cable from the router to the telly (if both of those can use ethernet.)
Get a wifi repeater (which will involve some drop in speed, but should still work).

I got a wifi repeater. Virgin recommends those powerline doohickeys but I was not sure how well they would work in these old tenaments. I've set the repeater to the same SSID, and everything plays nicely.

From what I understand about Virgin, if you're in an upgraded area, it is fibre optic in the street (same old copper into the house).

Thanks. Have considered all three at points. The first two aren't really feasible without creating mess and trip hazards. I got a repeater and it didn't work so well. There's problems with our phone lines, I think.

I reckon I'll wait until fibre optic's available in my area, then get an engineer to look at it all in one go. I can muddle through for the time being - you can't miss what you've never had.
