I'm working on two new fanzines at the moment:

CT#6. Interviews with: Wild Balbina, Go Violets, Bloomer, Horowitz, Westkust, Alpaca Sports, and (probably) more. And a long, long Indietracks diary.

+

an extra fanzine to go with the first CT LP, with interviews with all 12 bands involved. Probably going to be a pre-order extra.

I'm enjoying myself.

Candy Twist fanzine #6 is finally really almost done! It'll be 92 pages and features interviews with Westkust, Go Violets, Horowitz, Bloomer, The Spook School, Freschard, The Garlands, Wild Balbina, Compute, All Dogs, and Alpaca Sports. Also: 19 pages of Indietracks (featuring many quotes and comments from performing artists, organisaton and fans), various mini-interviews and contributions by Kristin Gill, Pete Bowers, Marc Hibbett and Ian Anscombe.

...and then I'll take a break from fanzines for a while.

I just re-read my own Indietracks diary in CT#6, and I now realise I've confused Pete's songs 'The glass delusion' and 'Let it go by' in it. Sorry Pete! Maybe nobody but you would have noticed (or cared), but here's a rectification anyway: where I wrote 'Let it go by' I meant 'The glass delusion'. There's plenty of other mistakes, but oh well.

I thought I wouldn't do another 'zine for a while. But now, with Indietracks becoming more real, I'm sort of getting in the mood again.

If anyone would like to contribute to Candy Twist #7, please send me a PM?

After that last message, I didn't do anything for two months. Not inspired AT ALL! And now, in a last minute attempt to still do something, I've finally started actually working on this today. I can feel the excitement coming back... summer pop is in the air.

That's what I'm hoping for, tonieee! Lots of work to do though, but I'll take the challenge.

Lots of you have already bought this at Indietracks (it sold out!), but for those of you not there & interested: Candy Twist #7 is ready and for sale now. It costs just 1 euro (plus shipping), is 84 pages and got lots of good stuff I think. Issues #4 to #6 are also still on sale, if you'd want to combine an order, and so is the LP (down to the last few copies).

This needs some more advertising!

Interviews with Flowers, Heathers, Maz (NYC Popfest), Dufflecoat Records, Axolotes Mexicanos, Ray Kimura, Thee AHs, The Fireworks, Gurr, Cosines and 100% Vegan (Ray).

It features great contributions by Marianthi (crystallball), Andy (a fog of ideas), Kristin (kcoeur), Pete (outcognito) and Lisa Bouvier. Also mini-interviews with Andrew Warhurst (The Swapsies), Suzy Bo (The Wendy Darlings), Nye Todd (The Spook School), Veronica Dejani (The Choo Choo Trains), Thomas Glchr (Pale Spectres), Michaël Korchia (Watoo Watoo), Lisle Mitnik (Fireflies), and Victoria Linares Villegas and Juan Julio Peña (Franny & Zooey).

You didn't mention that it's a highly accomplished piece of work, a damn fine read and any self-respecting popkid will want a copy on their bedside/coffee table (whichever most people are going to get to see and, on seeing Candy Twist #7 sat there, gasp at in admiration)

Although to be fair the list of contents should imply that (to anyone with a head, heart, soul, hips, pulse)

I often find myself thinking what a great compilation "Nobody's Business" was, and how good it would be if Dennis was inspired to put together a Volume 2. So I've written that thought down on the internet. And I stand by it.

I thought it probably wouldn't happen anymore, but it seems that today I've started work on issue #8 of Candy Twist. A new LP will have to wait a little longer still. One day...
