I imagine, given I have no experience of doing it, that you could do it in much the same way as you can digitise your vinyl - by plugging a line out from your 4-track to your computer's line in and using summat like Audacity to turn it into an MP3.
I may be ugly and hate-filled but... wait, what was the third thing you said?

Pockets Filled With Matches are no more, but we still have copies of our e.p. 'If Time Heals You' for sale, if you'd like one

We were chatting about it here a few months back.

But yes, magic. And you'd burn in hell for it.

Get a usb mixer so you don't have to mess about with computer soundcards. 4 track line out to line in of mixer usb of mixer to internet man. I have a reel to reel so I do it with that.

Or even this: http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/se ... k=MMIX4USB

If you got a rca to 1/4 jack cable, much cheaper really.

I'm doing an album called Manatee Shanties and Cat Lullabies.

The title is self-explanatory.

That's gonna be a lot more expensive than just converting the signal from his cassette 4-track to an MP3 though, innit?

Yeah but depending on his soundcard it'll sound so much worse, computer noise is no fun.

I've been looking at some reviews of those usb mixers and they don't sound like they're all that, to be honest.

Would an audio interface like this thing here do the job? I've got an old minidisk multitracker knocking about so surely I could use that and then send it through an audio interface to my laptop?

Nothing yet. Day one was scuppered by having band practice last night.

But i did write a song upon waking this morning so maybe i'll just write a very short pop-punk album over the next month and use them all for JCUP songs. YES.

The FAWM site is live for 2011! Anyone thinking about having a go this year?

I can't wait, it's the best part of the year!

It re-begins tomorrow!

I'm excited, and my studio is well stocked and tidy. For once.
