Woo! New version of my song "The First Snow Of This Winter" up on my myspace.

Kattparaden - The First Snow Of This Winter

I've recorded using my timbale drums + bass + my telecaster + my acoustic tanglewood + a tiny bit of piano + all vocals.

And while I recorded it, the snow fell! Yay!

Oh my gosh, how did I miss two comments on this?! Usually I know every post in every thread on this forum... THANK YOU both! That's really nice of you to say!

I think the M-Audio interface thingy really makes a difference. Thank you so much for that recommendation David, it just makes it all different. I guess more goes into having a good microphone too. My old one I, er, "borrowed" from my youth club when I was 16.

I just wrote a song last night and recorded it tonight. OH and I got sick of the Kattparaden name (I was thinking about alter egos and how people tend to end up ditching them in the end... Jens Lekman sprung to mind for some reason) so I just changed it back to my own. Exciting, not so much, but the best I got anyway was "Kettpraaaaden".

So, on the same page but with a new URL:

The song is called 'Eventually' (it autoplays first) and it's about teenage heartbreak and how it's all really black and white and you vaguely see something good maybe in the future, but you feel physically ill just thinking about it in the present. What a crappy explanation. I like it anyway!

Oh thank you so much for your kinds words, and thank you for taking the time to listen! I really apprecaite it!

Yes, I'm not sure what is up at the moment. I just... realised a bunch of stuff about the way I write songs and oh, it's strange but I've never felt so good or sure about any other songs I've written. I'm just going to write through this time and see what happens. I hope I can get an album's worth, that's my aim. I feel really confident and determined too, which is so new. I'm the one performing looking at my shoes and making excuses for myself between songs normally. Now I feel like playing live and all. Nuts.

I've written and recorded a song in one night. It's called The Ticketmaster - http://www.box.net/shared/pjb7dlrpk5

Feedback would be appreciated. I need to edit it a bit to take out some of the space (in fact if anyone has any suggestions about how and what to do on audacity I'd be delighted to hear them).

I think I was aiming for a TBS style song (Trembling Blue Stars rather than Taking Back Sunday). It's quite a novelty not to jangle the bugger out of the guitar. Writing basslines are so much fun too.

Song also contains a Smittens reference.

Yo people,

I wrote a new song on Friday and recorded it then, but re-recorded today as I wasn't happy with it, and now I love it. Funny how a few different recordings can make such a difference.

It's called "Say Something" and it's on http://www.myspace.com/astridwiezellmusic

Thanks!

I recorded this at home yesterday for an EP of acoustic versions of my songs to come out next year. Enjoy!

Cover version of I Am Kloot's song "To You" recorded at home today. This is done in a slightly bluegrass style, for a project I'm am doing with my (77 year old) father. he is a great country singer, but has never recorded. So I'm recording an album's worth of country-ish songs for him.
Here's one:

This will only be available for a few days.

Here we go then: "Velocity Girl" recorded today for the album of covers I am doing with my Dad, who is the singer in the family. His vocal will replace mine, so this version won't be released. Grab it while you can...
