Looking at the line-up, I see Young Romance are playing and also La Femme, ... if I could score some free tickets I'd go see them but standing about for a whole weekend watching 'tomorrow's Jake Buggs, Ellie Gouldings and Ed Sheerans' doesn't appeal so much

I reckon I'm going. I figure I'll just watch the couple of bands I want to see and spend the rest of the day drinking in the arbo.

Have you been recently, James? Do you still have to get there three bands early to see the band you actually want to see?

I went two or three years ago. I don't remember if there was anyone I particularly wanted to see that year, but I don't remember much queuing.

There's about fifteen different stages this year. I'm pretty confident that not everyone will be going to see Young Romance at 3pm in Stealth.

I remember when we used to give in after an hour and sit in the Pit and Pendulum for the rest of the day slagging passers-by off.

GOOD TIMES.

I remember the Rescue Rooms being packed out for ages one year but the couple of times I've been there's never been queues everywhere. I might be on a press review pass, though the copy I'd be filing might not cover everything if that happens. Mostly I've pitched in for White Lung, Real Estate and Courtney Barnett, but suffice to say Macauley Culkin's The Pizza Underground will very much have to look after themselves.

The first time I went Liars and Beach House played, which I think gave an unmatchable idea of what the festival was.

It was mainly at The Social where the big queues were. And it was, y'know... the Social crowd. And the Social.

Not been to the Rescue Rooms for a couple of years but they've done it up and it's much better, the stage has been elevated and it's much more airier... although it was mostly carbon dioxide we were breathing in the rising fog of the full on sweat of the Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos Explosion

(are still number one)

Don't suppose anyone fancies a pint or two over the weekend at all? I know there's the acoustic alldayer thing in Sheffield and I might go to some part of it, but just wondered if anyone fancied a drink.

I'm off to that sad bastard early 1990 revival gig in Manchester, Damo, else I'd be up for a pint.

I'm not sure my exact plans for the weekend yet, but yeah, I'm definitely up for a pint at some point.

Anyone fancy a couple of scoops after work on Thursday to celebrate Jamie making 50? Not sure if Jamie's coming or not, but that's not the point.; half a century should be celebrated.

Excellent. Think Ian is up for it too. (And Jamie). I'll give you a shout.

Cross Keys? Let's kick off there. They do nice good too if anyone wants to ruin the entire evening.

I can't come out for drinking.

I am doing some DJing at some free gig thing at Spanky Van Dykes later, if anyone fancies it. https://www.facebook.com/events/538805966229170/

Nottinghams - a very awesome Sheffield poet called Matthew Clegg is giving a free reading in your city on Wednesday night. It's at somewhere called The Guitar Bar in Hotel Deux, at eight o'clock. Will you go to it for me please? Thanks.
