We won't be out tonight. I'm sick, and Gav's working tomorrow, I think. And we're 'financially embarrassed', as Gavin would say.

Is anyone up for a gentle country walk this afternoon? I'm going to head out to Castle Semple Loch near Lochwinnoch for a few hours. There's a castle and a loch and some forests. It should be lovely. I think it's mostly flat with a few little hills here and there. I've never been before, but it's a lovely day and it's quite close by. I'll be heading out in about half an hour or an hour. Anyone?

ADVANCE WARNING: I shall be going for a walk this weekend, either on Saturday or Sunday (or perhaps both, if I'm feeling active). Anyone want to come along?

The streets of Glasgow are paved with eejits in seeyoujimmy hats because the Daily Record told them so. It was a full-on bloody assault course down Buchanan Street today just to avoid the flag sellers, the Children in Need collectors, the Cash for Kids buckets and those charity fuckers who tell you you've got a lovely smile even though you're not smiling. Bastards.

I'm in a right grump. I might have a drink.

aye, i dont have it here, so i'll attach the january one instead.

Important point for Saturday, there is free entry if you are at the flying duck before 11pm after which point it will be the usual £4, which is still a bargain. Image

That would be Jeffrey Lewis & The Jitters. It should be very good.

Were I not in London I'd be totally there.

Well I went I saw...I left after 10 minutes as was too knackered and not a little ill but what I did see was fun and glittery and I contributed by blowing bubbles before sleeking off. Got loads of nice photos too. Wasn't what I was expecting.

The Flying Duck's new Friday night 'All Back Tae Mine' starts tomorrow night, with the Winchester Club DJs and the owner Craig Tannock playing tunes and that. Gav has some more information about what's happening next week, which I'm sure he will duly update you all with.

So, who's been to that Cabin restaurant? I'm supposed to be going there tomorrow night, but the thought of a forced sing-a-long is making me feel a tad faint.

How was it? I've been wanting to go there for AGES. We went for lunch one day and the food was amazing, but I really want to get a group of people together and go at the weekend.

Back Tae Mine is back tonight at the Flying Duck with a residentials night, then next Friday its guest DJ Pat Nevin playing us his fave tunes, 15th is residentials, and the 22nd sees Gerry Love of the Teenage Fanclub spinning his faves.

The times are 11pm-3am, its £4 in, there will be toast, and tea and coffee does the rounds.

Also, whilst i would obviously recommend hitting the Duck after whatever else you are up to, Georgie James, who have supported Camera Obscura in the States muchly, are in town tonight and will be playing at Sleazies. They are top hole entertainment, lovely folks and rather loud powerpop-mongous. Worth dropping in to see if you are looking for some live music to see.
