Have they? Oooh. Yes I am, and I'm with EE. How did you get that then? What mast fire?

I'm with EE too but I haven't really noticed any problems. I'd not heard of a mast fire either.

Basically I'd noticed that I had no signal about a week and a half ago. I happened to be looking on the sheffieldforum and saw this...
http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthr ... =mast+fire

...and realised that's what it must be. So I phoned up customer services and after a long time and 3 different people, they conceded that there was a problem and that they would give me a refund. Oh and text me when it's fixed. Which it clearly isn't.
Interestingly, I've heard other people saying that EE have been doing first line denial 'Oh, no one else has reported any problems...'. Arseholes.

Think I'm off to see Kath Auto at the Cremorne tonight, having managed to miss every single one of the other gigs they've sent me an FB invite for since my return to Sheffo. I'll see thee if that's on your itinerary as well.

Lunch Club at the Red Deer before that, though. If this MARC record conversion I'm watching over ever bloody finishes.

Actually I've realised that I am having connection problems but just with internet which is *very* slow. And not only at home (where I usually use wifi) but at work and other places too. I get a full signal and have had no problems with calls/text messages. Plus it's only been a couple of days so I goes it's not the same thing. Which means I'm waffling on for no reason :-).

Jeremy: I won't be out tonight because I'm on child/dog duty.

Leila: are you going to the Ruskin Park Fun Day tomorrow?

Yes we are! Going to be helping with the Library group in the afternoon. Any other takers?

None Facebook types! It's my birthday on Sunday. There is a two stage celebratory process:

1. Saturday - Early evening in the Three Tuns, proceeding to the Rutland and thence Death by Shoes.

2. Sunday - Closed Shop quiz

Hope to see at you at some point.

I'll be there for parts 1a and 1b. Not sure that I'll be up for Death By Shoes. If I'm drunk enough it'll probably seem like a good idea though. So I guess I will be going to Death By Shoes.. .

Sheffields! Where, if at all, are you watching the Tour de Yorkshire from on Sunday?

Linda and I are thinking maybe the top of Rutland Street, as they'll be coming uphill then and we'll get to see them for longer.

Also facilitates a post-event scamper back downhill for drinks on the island or even - whisper it - the Gardeners Rest. May need to pack disguises if going to the latter, though.

I really can't believe how shit the route is. It includes absolutely nothing of what makes this city extraordinary. If you'd wanted to pick a route deliberately to make Sheffield look rubbish, this is pretty much the way you'd go. Ugh.

Bradfield is great, Oughtibridge is nice, but after that it's very meh.

Oliver and I are gonna go into town and look round all the stuff they're doing there. French market, big screen, inflatable stuff. Anyone wants to meet up, give us a shout.

And one of the nicest places to watch the cycling.
Seriously, that was one of the BEST afternoons of my life. Lovely people, party atmosphere, wine and camembert in the sun. Bloody fantastic.

Aw, was it good? I thought it'd just be too rammed out there - seemed like half the population of the city was heading out!

Owt up Friday? Thinking of going to Early Cartographers' ep launch at the Riverside.
