I must admit, I've often thought I've blinded myself taking mine out after having a curry. Sheer agony.

The new BBC football league pages are a right mess. You've can't tell which results are new and which are old. Then there's there arbitary video highlights, which is nice, but is again confusing as to how old it is.

Or is it just me?

They do seem to be so concerned on pushing the video highlights that they forget most people just want to know the most recent results.

Agree. There's much less news articles too.

To be honest, they should only put video footage to the top for the first couple of days after a game, after that it should be news articles and match reports, and the video should go into a section below.

To be fair, the online video footage is top notch. I think I may stop my Latics highlights subscription because I'm only using it for the odd interview and occasional game commentary.

It's worst for the day after the game when they don't yet have the right to put up the latest highlights. They should definitely give precedence to new match reports over old highlights for that day.

I've just walked through a group of the ugliest Scunthorpe fans on my way home. They looked like they were born in a blast furnace on the steel works and haven't seen daylight since.

To be honest they could probably have been any Scunthorpe fans.

There's two more equally hilarious episodes on YouTube now too.

Anyone get the feeling that Nicklas Bendtner is after a free replacement Aston Martin?
The police and everyone else at the scene told me I would have been dead if I hadn't been wearing my seatbelt.

They also told me I would have been dead if I had been driving a car with a less impressive safety record.
It leaves me feeling pretty hollow that a young player as average as Nicklas Bendtner can be driving an Aston Martin. He's probably got a spare one in the garage too.

This would be equally at home in the What Just Made You Laugh thread.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Tuttle
On Thursday 27th August 2009, Dave Tuttle was confirmed as the new manager of struggling Zamaretto League Division 1 South & West side Bracknell Town FC.

Tuttle was well-known during his playing days for having the funniest house in Chesterfield, featuring no doors and a hallway in the shape of a hen.

Possibly the most cringe-worthy thing I've read of late.

Stop talking Phil. Stop it.

I think there was more up there before, I'm sure it was longer when I read it before. I wonder if it was taken down.

I also wonder if this will see the Mail shut out of City.

Is this the one where he was supposed to have talked a lady out of jumping off the Humber bridge? He was interviewed about it on the radio this afternoon and said it wasn't anything of the sort. Not like him to talk anyone down, least of all himself, but fair enough.

Weird news day today though. Nothing further on the Redknapp rumours, but in other news, Portsmouth are like proper broke. Players didn't get paid this month, the board are claiming it was a cash-flow issue rather than something more sinister, but now al-Fahim's in hospital with kidney stones and not in an altogether good way.

Also it turns out Ken Bates didn't buy Leeds at all, he made up some story about having "management shares" (whatever they are) in the company that did actually buy him, some Cayman Islands-based sports management company or something. Well shady.

Yeah I saw that. Just when I thought Leeds were finally on the way up again. He really is a horrible man. At least we seem to have have a decent manager these days...

Not sure there is anything new in any of the latest stories though.
I dont think anyone seriously doubts that Bates owns Leeds, its just that in certain court situations it suits him not to.

Equally he seems to have conned the Council out of £6m to buy back the training ground, claiming he cant afford to - despite the fact;
1) Leeds got £6m+ for Delph just a couple of months ago
2) He probably owns it already.

Completely agree that he is a horrible, despicable, dishonest toad - but a bit of me thinks Leeds are better off under him than the likes of Krasner or Risdale. And as you say while Grayson is doing a good job the majority dont even notice the back room shenanigans.

I really don't see how the owner having an operation for kidney stones in any way threatens the future of Portsmouth; it's not as if you have to be physically fit to shift your finances about, is it? I reckon it's one of two things - either something's gone tits-up with his money and he can't afford to invest anything in the club after all so he's using the operation as an excuse or a time-buyer, or more likely it's just taking longer to finalise something than they thought it would take, and the media have gone crazy trying to link the two things.

The Redknapp rumours are weird, aren't they? Clearly they're not going to sack him because of the team's results, and I doubt anyone with more money than Spurs would want to bring him in, so only the "about to be arrested for money-laundering" theory makes any sense at all. But even then, surely the police would just arrest him rather than leak a story to a handful of blogs first. Probably more to do with the fact that this week is when Spurs sack the manager most seasons.

Charlie Nicholas just said that he thought it was because there were rumours he was going back to Portsmouth. Righto. (Mind you, he also said the betting frenzy came due to "a couple of small bets". Yeah, a couple of wayward tenners will often bring someone's odds from 66-1 to evens.
