A lot of the more expensive players haven't performed or have been injured, which has been fun in a way because it gives you more money to play with and it becomes more about finding players from 'lesser' teams that are doing well or about to hit some good form. Clean sheets have been really hard to come by though and the whole season has been fairly unpredictable in terms of results.

I kinda like a difficult season though. I can't decide if it gives an advantage to people who put time in to do a bit of research or the opposite, where you can get by on pure jamminess. I saw a link to someone's team the other day who made no transfers for the first ten weeks or something and didn't change his captain and his team was ranked first overall (in the world) for four consectuive weeks. That's jammy.
Looking at the leagues I'm in, the top positions are universally held by those who've made 30 or more transfers, so I'd say that in general it still pays to keep an eye on your team.

kippers/john does it again. you swine, you.

in my league for money, i thought i'd finished second having totted up the scores, only to watch MOTD and realise the FPL had mistakenly given n'zogbia the wigan assist and not figueroa. so those 3 points were duly removed from my n'zog and down to 3rd i slipped by 1 point. you tease, FPL.

kolarov is the bain of my fantasy football life.

I dropped to second in two of the leagues that I was winning, dammit. My main rivals in both leagues had big scorers come off their subs bench, the jammy bastards. Also bloody Sturridge got himself sent off. Ah well, it's the first time I've broken 2000 points in a season, and I've proved that I can do OK if I don't put silly restrictions on myself.

I crawled over the finishing line there, in fairness. But a win's a win's a win (and other cliches).

The Premier League are taking their sweet time getting the 2011/12 fantasy season up and running, aren't they? I'm getting twitchy here. (Well, twitchier.)

I read somewhere that it's going to be ready in the next week/ week and a bit. Something to look forward to; shame I'm shite at it.

In the meantime I've been putting a team together for this :-

Okay it's not the premier league but the championship is probably just as exciting if not more so. I think it's a nice touch that you only have 10m to spend.

It appears that the actual FPL is up and running now.

Fantastic. I may well have to give that Championship game a whirl this season too (just for a laugh, like - I'm sure I'll fare appallingly there).

The old code doesn't seem to work, so here's the new details...

http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

League: ANORAK
Code: 6036-17123

It looks a bit fancier than normal. I've taken some gambles with my team this year. Balotelli better come good, the massive mental.

Oooh this new style is all very flash. I don't like it. Change change change. First name on the team sheet after last season, Dirk 'THE POINTS' Kuyt. He'd better still get into Kenny's massive midfield.

I'm in, with more of a sense of optimism for this season than in previous years.

I'm all set now also. Even I'm hoping I don't win again this year.

I have created an Anorak head to head league for a different take on things. Limited to 14 teams. Code is 284424-105262

I've entered both leagues.

For renewing leagues it's not a question of using the old codes. The person who made last years league just has to renew it then everyone who was in it last year gets entered automatically if they make a team with the same account. Don't suppose it matters really.

I really need to find a job fast. I have entered the championship version and created the Sounds XP Division Two so if anyone fancies a challenge the code for that is 6003.

I'll have a go on that, despite my lack of knowledge of all teams in the Championship that aren't Southampton!

I don't think so. I don't even think there's a mobile site this year since the revamp.
