I was going to ask if other people are joining the Telegraph League One Fantasy Thingy, but it turns out they're only doing the Premier League and, well hidden on the site, the Championship this season. How wrong.

G:
Friedel
Guzan

D:
Warnock
Turner
Ferdinand
L Young
Zayatte

M:
Valencia
Gerrard
Kightly
Arshavin
Murphy

F:
Torres
Zamora
Beattie

I think there's a chance I may have overspent getting a FLAIR midfield to the detriment of the rest of the team...

Alas the Premier League is not exactly awash with former Brighton players. I can only think of 2 off the top of my head, or three if you count Gareth Barry...

I've never tried doing one of these before, I hope I grasp the basic ideas, suspect I'm not going to do very well, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. Woo!

Yes that's a pain in the a*se. I only paid to enter the overpaid prima-donnas league so it gave me free entry to the Div 1 league.
Seems a bit daft to get rid of it - there were 1000s of people in the Div 1 league last year and it cant cost them much to run - all works off the same database i assume.
No more time trawling for cheap Stockport defenders then.

1: Reina
2: Cole A
3: Warnock
4: Cahill
5: Davies
6: Young A
7: Modric
8: Wright-Phillips
9: Kuyt
10: Defoe
11: Agbonlahor

12: Kingson
13: Woodgate
14: Kompany
15: Ashton

Hmm cant get the picture thing to paste.
I'm usually rubbish at these things due to my principled stance of never ever picking Man Utd players.
I may concentrate on trying to beat TomB's team though - keeping the old Sandy-Biggleswade rivalry alive.

I am going to secretly dominate thanks to Grétar Steinsson. And Brede Hangeland.

And Ade Akinbiyi. Who is currently my captain. How wrong. I think he'll come good this yr. One of my friends owns his (old) boots!

*and my team is called Sporting Crouton

I'm in. Optimists Anonymous are my lot. Can't publish any squad details here just yet, mind, as my line-up changes by the day.

Done my team, at last! Starting line-up looks like this:

Schwarzer
Lescott Shawcross Bridge
Arshavin Lampard Palacios Neville Malbranque
Crouch Anelka

Subs: Hart (gk), Hughes (df), Mancienne (df), Paterson (fw)

I quite fancy Arshavin to do well this season.

I've just joined the free Sky one. You can only pick 11, which is a bit shit, but i think it's unlimited transfers (which is either good or a bit shit, i cna't decide - although bound to be better than last year when almost all of my team got injured within 4 months).

My team:

ONZE GARCON DANS LE VENT
Friedel (Villa)

Baines (Everton)
Ferdinand (Man U)
Carvalho (Chelsea)
Davenport (West Ham)

Palacios (Spurs)
Pienaar (Everton)
Arshavin (Arsenal)
Milner (Villa)

Drogba (Chelsea)
Torres (Liverpool)
halo my middle, a hula hoop hug

I went with him from the start too. Such skill, such sophistication, such style. If he were a chat show host he'd be Elan Partridge. Back of the net!

Cor blimey guv, it's tight at the top of the Anorak league heading in to the international break. Did anyone else see Barry Glendenning's article about fantaasy football, and how it can take over your life, in the Guardian a couple of weeks ago, by the way? Absolutely top-notch bit of writing this was:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog ... y-football

I'm displaying a lot of the symptons described within too, tragically. Funny old game, Saint.

So, I just used my wildcard... I know we're still quite early in the season, but I'm not doing so well in the Anorak league.

But yes, this is the first time I've tried fantasy football, and I now have the same feeling as buyer's remorse gives.... have I made a mistake?

I used my wildcard in week five last year. I definitely don't think it's too early to use it. By this point in the season you've got a pretty good idea of who's performing well. Have you got any Hull players in your squad, Johnny? I've had Zayatte since the start of the season and he's done quite well, even knocking in a couple of goals. I'm thinking of taking a punt on Jimmy Bullard too.

Yes, although some of those are in the wrong net.

I have Zayatte as a sub, and Hunt in too.

I had more in at the start of the season, but I've been shedding along the way.

I'd love to know that Bullard was going to stay injury free for the rest of the season, but I do worry about him.

He was rested during the Everton game the other day, wasn't even anywhere near the bench. I've been told he was spotted having a meat pie and watching the game, at the stadium, but on the TV rather than actually on the pitch. There's talk of him having some stiffness and needing a late fitness test before tomorrow... I'm hoping that's just smoke, but who knows.

No, thankfully. I’ve just bought two new midfielders that have been doing well (Clint Dempsey and David Dunn) so I’m sticking with them for the moment.

Has anyone else found this season really hard to predict? What limited success I had last year was based around clean sheets, and I played five defenders most week. This season, it seems like no-one can defend and any team can lose on any given weekend (Wigan have beaten Chelsea but also been hammered 9-1 by Spurs, for example), there’s a big gulf between the top-scoring midfielder (Fabregas) and the rest, defenders like Dunne and Vermaelen are banging in goals, and so on.

I think I’ve been really lucky so far this season. When I checked on Saturday night my team was ranked 170th out of 68,000-odd in Scotland, which I was embarrassingly chuffed about.

Does anyone know who John Lewis is on Anorak? I'd be winning our league if it wasn't for him and his scarily-high points total.
