This doesn't seem like a good day to be working at a desk where I can't have TMS on. Skittles seems to be the feeling I'm getting from the Guardian updates.

Shit, Graham Dilley is dead. That's really sad news.

Oh man. And he was only 52.

I don't think England have had a quicker bowler in my lifetime. He was dazzling in his prime. Amazed to see that he only played 41 tests: he seemed like a permanent fixture at the time.

England had some weird-looking bowlers around that time. Two fat spinners in Edmonds and Emburey. Bob Willis. Richard Ellison. Dilley. There must be more. But, yeah - he was like shit off a shovel Dilley, wasn't he?

Is anyone following the BASTARD MENTAL South Africa - Australia game? I don't want to make myself look silly, but I think there might be a result there...

Well well - Australia have now been bowled out for under 100 three times in their last 12 Tests, over the last 16 months.

Before that: it happened to them once in 277 matches over 26 years!!

They were actually 21 for 9 today before the last wicket stand dragged them to 47 all out.

Saffers 81-1 in their 2nd innings - need 155 to win.

I have just taken a fairly random notion to go and watch one of the fixtures Derbyshire play at Queen's Park in Chesterfield.

This year they play three matches there. Two of those are in that silly Sunny Delight format of cricket. The other is a County Championship game against Yorkshire from 17 to 20 July. Would anyone like to come to it with me?

Do they play Lancashire there at all? I'd come over for that as I've said I'm using some of my holidays to watch some cricket matches and plus I'll get free tickets though a couple of Lancs players I know through our local team. Football's drained me and cricket invigorates me.
Fuck your tea room.

Not this season. There's just that Championship game against Yorkshire, and two bouts of 20-over nonsense against Yorks and Durham.

I know what you mean about cricket v football.

This isn't what you want from the first test of an Ashes. I demand to see no more than four wickets fall over the first three days and bowlers crying into the parched earth.
