Cricket, bloody hell!

Well done Ireland. Kevin O'Brien's knock was bloody amazing.

Unbelievable! Apparently England bowled (and fielded) absolute mince, but that shouldn't take away from Ireland. They scored 217 off the second 25 overs!

Unbelievable once again! Incredibly tight, tense win for England against South Africa, by just 6 runs..

Low-scoring match - England's 171 to SA's 165

Great game that was yesterday. Well played England.

Ireland again gave a decent account of themselves, although India had too much class in the end. Ireland are clearly the best of the associates though, by a long chalk.

The difference between the two groups is incredible. All the drama is in your group, while the one match in ours that looked like it could have any real bite about it fizzled out like the dampest of squibs.

None of them look like they want to be there at all, do they? Apart from maybe Morgan.

Well, that was fun; thought it was all over when Trott's catch on the boundary was given not out. Bet they can't wait to get knocked out and go home!

England have been the real entertainers this cup. Think every game of theirs has gone down to the wire.

The Lankans next. We've got India. On current form we'll both be packing our bags.

I think its still wide open - no obvious form team with all having weaknesses.

India bowling looks weak - Zaheer apart
Aussies have wrong type of bowlers and Ponting remains out of form.
Sri Lanka look week in middle order (expect 5&6 to get centuries against England now)
Pakistan and England are just too random
W Indies and NZ look short of class players - though a Gayle or Taylor innings could win any game.
I bet on SA at the start - that still looks a possibility.

... and who would have thought that South Africa would have been knocked out by New Zealand at the quarter finals stage too??

Shame. I just think that SA v Sril Lanka (or England?) would have made a better semi. But fair play to NZ - they never gave up, applied the pressure, and took their opportunity.

Well, not a surprise that England lost to Sri Lanka.

It is a shame that it was so one-sided though.

So.. in the semis:

New Zealand v Sri Lanka
India v Pakistan

I would have preferred South Africa v Sri Lanka - but it just wasn't to be.

Hoping for a Sri Lanka v India final.

I thought it was quite astute of us not to let their best 2 players, Sangakkarra and Jayawardene, have a bat.

I can imagine thry'll be a riot if it looks like Pakistan might win !
