What book are you coveting?

Post by Colin » Thu Apr 30, 2009 19:25

A sister thread to 'what book are you reading?', this is for books you've got your eye on and would dearly like to get. It doesn't have to be something rare/expensive/unjustifiable, but it can be.

At the moment mine is Homage to Caledonia, which the guy I sit across from at work has been reading me excerpts from. It's about Scots who went to fight in the Spanish Civil War. I well want a go on it when he's finished.

Oooh, good thread. This one is (very) expensive but it is a book I know I would enjoy.

The Ingmar Bergman Archives

I don't think I could ever get bored of reading about Bergman or ever get bored of watching his films.

Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life
This book is so gorgeous. It's huge and has almost every illustration Charley Harper ever produced. It's $400 dollars and comes with a limited edition screenprint.

Mark Mazower's Dark Continent. Because the book --on Europe in the 20th century-- is said to be amazing. It's not sold out or anything, I just like to dream of having it one day. :)
