I originally thought Michelle was the killer as had a feeling she was leaving the show anyway, but after his mum's crazy behaviour in last night's episode, think it will be her.

It looks like the killer is going to revealed in 2 weeks time, thought they might have tried to spin it out for a bit longer than that.

I reckon it was Frank's new squeeze, Jenny, the one who helped him con Carla out of Underworld, I reckon she was in Underworld when Frank confessed to all his diabolical goings on and when he threatened to rape Carla again... Jenny heard all that and having been 'won over' by him but now realising she'd been used by him she done the nonce with Carla's left behind whiskey bottle

Claret everywhere

Frank, toes up

She scarpers

Bins the bottle that Jason finds

Not been seen since

She may also have the contract... or somebody else picked it up (Michelle?)

I say 'I reckon', this is a pretty popular theory around the intercobbles

I hope it's all done and dusted soon and Carla and Peter can (having moderated their drinking) go back to a blissful existence of staring into one another's gimlet-eyes and ravenning one another up on the sofa and I hope Simon warms to his new mother because, frankly, Leanne was atrocious, an absolute shower, and imagine having Carla as your stepmother... probably that's not for here

I'm a bit disappointed that it was the mother, hoped there might have been a twist but sadly not. Not sure what even happened to Jenny, thought we would have seen her at the funeral but she has completely disappeared.

The bit where Kevin looked in through the window and saw Duty Free wielding a knife reminded me of a scene from Hi-de-Hi.

I really, really hope Eileen does get rid of this depressing, crying-faced bastard once and for all. Or if she doesn't, she lets Jason have one free hit at him.

blimey, the corry thread had nearly slipped to page two in the moves like treacle uphill 'cinema, tv and radio' section- a sure sign it (rather than anorak) must be in decline

sadly, all I can offer is something puerile

was anna really reading a magazine called 'shit' in roy's rolls in tonight's first corry?

I suppose I can find out on catch up

oh crumbs, it's all been going on and yet at the same time 'nothing' has really happened

steve and michelle are getting back together but steve being a bit of a dafty almost managed to scupper that by promising allsorts to tracey when she fell ill with her one kidney but I think michelle and steve are now back on track however michelle's son, ryan, who along with a change of actor has also had a change of personality (which we can blame on him dabbling with cocaine and him being a musician, perhaps? he's well feckless and unreliable now) may ruin all that as may carla's brother who now lives with michelle and is a bit of a twat (or, I suspect, in the coronation street producer's mind, sexy and dangerous)... tyrone is now on his own after whatserface started knocking him about however he's now gone all overly aggressive himself and seems to be alienating himself from everyone apart from tina who is the only one who knows what's been going on... there was some amusing/awkward diversions as mary fixated on roy... the 'big' storyline is katy offering to be a surrogate mum for izzy and gary and chesney's dog collar market stall empire seemingly on the verge of collapse (his van was condemned)... and the definite worst storyline is fireman paul back in eileen's life and trying to sleep on her sofa during the day while he works the nightshift, but kevin is doing loud diy next door (using a sander, doing a lot of banging) and paul ends up oversleeping and getting in trouble at work for turning up late...

there is a helpline if you've been affected by any of the storylines included in this post

Cheers Andy - that's a wonderfully comprehensive summary. I guess the old Ryan must be doing well with his Smiths cover band then.

Hang on, which Ryan are we talking about? The one she thought was hers and got swapped in the maternity unit or the other one? Actually, I don't know why I'm mithering since I've not watched it since the tram crash.

Can anyone tell me how Nigel Havers has come back? What was his excuse?

I have no idea when Corrie is on any more these days. My entire universe is out of sync because of the fucking Champions League.

when was the last time you watched with him in it? he's been away with audrey and while away- possibly in belgium- he was spotted by an ex he'd apparently conned out of money and in a panic did a bunk leaving audrey on a slow train back to weatherfield... she came back all glum, then the ex turned up demanding money and then havers returned with his tale tucked firmly between his face... so audrey believes him and has given all her savings to the ex and now havers is working in the rovers because nick's refused to give him his old job back and sue johnston thinks he'll be good for business

I think that's about the size of it, nigelwise
