I'm up to date with it now. I watched the seventh episode yesterday. For me, it has a strange sense of being both quite fresh and feeling like I've seen it before. Very odd. Maybe it's an age thing. Anyway, if you've liked it so far you're in for a treat. One of my favourite things is that it is quite humourous which is something many dramas seem to lack.

Can't recommend HBO miniseries Show Me A Hero highly enough. It's about the political and racial tensions about the battle to build affordable housing in Yonkers, New York in the late 80s/early 90s and is insanely gripping. It's also really well acted and told from the perspective of ordinary residents as well as the politicians.

Was a bit of a wreck by the end on the last episode.

I'm really enjoying these Dominic Sandbrook programmes on popular culture on BBC 2. It flits about all over the place and seems to cover loads of ground in each episode yet still seems to do it in detail. I'm rubbish at talking about this kind of thing and am probably failing the title of this thread, but yeah, it's pretty good.

He annoys me a bit on the TV, although I always watch him 'cos he does programmes on interesting stuff. I like his pop-history books though, despite him being a bit of a raging granddad.

My vague antipathy towards him can't seem to stop me from consuming his output. I'm confused.

Anyone watching London Spy? Quite enjoying it, apart from the incongruous title.

I am. I was convinced that Ben Wishaw was under deep cover at the beginning and hung on until about half way through the second episode at which point I gave it up and felt a bit silly.

Nice to see Charlotte Rampling for a bit. She always makes me wonder how you'd go about having a rample.

Have only seen the first 2 but it's been pretty good. So much great stuff in telly right now with The Leftovers and Fargo continuing to excel themselves.

Charlotte Rampling's been in a few things lately. She was in the last series of Broadchurch and bizarrely in the final and entirely awful series of Dexter.

Just watching the man in the high castle, now. Enjoying it except for them randomly secretly promoting one of the characters between the pilot and episode 2.

Anyway that and 'The Americans' (which we've just finished series 3 of) basically fit perfectly into my 'obsessed with wwii related history mindset. Need to go back and finish Deutschland 83.

it was only the first episode that i found kind of frustrating. 3/4 episodes from the end is after the big ridiculous shootout right?

Yeah, that might have been the last episode I saw. It's not that I hated it, it's just that I wasn't that fussed.

I have been watching the last 10 or so minutes or Deal or No Deal (before Countdown starts) for a very long time, and pride myself on both not understanding and not wanting to understand what the hell is happening. It looks like tremendous fun though and the ridiculousness of Noel Edmonds amuses me greatly.

So 'Borderline' (quite good 'The Office' in immigration control mockumentary) has a character called Sujan Stevens (no f).

Possibly of interest to Anorak folk - a load of Slow TV stuff has just been added to (UK) Netflix, including a seven-hour train ride from Bergen to Oslo and twelve (12!) hours of Norwegian people knitting.

Anyone with Netflix (or no qualms about acquiring their tv extra legally) a fan of Bojack Horseman? I've just watched the end of season 3 and am in bits.

It's weird how it looks like (and was initially marketed) as wacky surreal satire about fame in a world with anthropomorphised animals, because it's really a show about depression and one of the most accurate depictions I've ever seen on tv too. Whilst also being extremely funny with a great line in puns.

I really can't recommend it enough.

I really enjoy it, although I don't think it'll be Mrs Gordon's cup of tea, so I don;t get too much of a chance to watch it. It's nice to have a near-the-knucle comedy that's actually clever.
