The bit where the course leader was pissing her knickers because the company owner was coming in was awful. As if the people on the course could give a shit. And did you see her house? If anyone's a parasite, she is.

she worked hard for that house sam. perhaps if you worked harder you could have a nice house like her.

here's her beautiful rags to riches story written in the hello mode by the someone whose lips seem to be on intimate terms with her ring piece.
There is no door mat that says ‘welcome’ to wipe your feet on. This for me is a castle - and I may be the dirty rascal? I go into a room, I’m not sure if it’s a living room, drawing room or music room. A grand piano, sofas with the finest of intricate detail, white cupboards with gold edging, chandeliers sparkling in natural daylight through the big windows and I see the back garden, it’s not a back garden though. It’s 100 acres. I like it here.

I went past the place where I had my restart course when I was on the dole for yonks in the early 90s yesterday. It's now run by...

Oof.

What did everyone think of the new Shooting Stars last night? I thought it was worth it on the strength of 'You've Been Filmed' alone.

I missed the first ten minutes or so, but saw the rest. It was pretty much just like it used to be wasn't it. Which was fine, but i'm not overly sure we need Shooting Stars in 2009.

I thought it was worth it for Christine's 'game' at the end really. Oh, and who was that greasy person on Ulrika's team? I Presume it's a character of some sort?

I thought it was mostly very good. Sure, you know what to expect, but it's still funny. And there were surprises, too - such as Vic's skidmarks!!

In a way, I think it's kind of sad (in the original sense of the word) that they are still doing the same old thing. But, if it makes people laugh, which it does, then I'm just going to laugh along and not worry about it!

I enjoyed it but it wasn't quite as funny as it used to be... and while I was watching it I thought 'if someone says it wasn't quite as funny as it used to be, I'd have an argument with them' but on reflection it wasn't... the editing wasn't quite as fast paced and that Ironik bloke was a waste of a guest and I missed Johnny Vegas (odd) and there were bits that sagged and that greasy lad didn't really cut it (I hope he's not on it next week)

I liked George Dawes old people's home song and Vic's skidmarks and tattoo of Christine's face in biro just above the crack of his arse was a delight

I did enjoy it and I will want to watch it next week but...

perhaps after a few more episodes I'll be feeling it more, man

It's always fun to have someone like that on just to watch them flounder though, isn't it?

yeh, but he didn't really flounder that much... except when he introduced his bear... actually that was funny, I take it back

Well he just sat there doing nothing - I've never heard of him either, he just kind of got on with it, which sort of defeats the point a bit on Shooting Stars. If they're going to have a 'non guest' it's kind of funnier if it's someone who's totally unfamiliar with the concept and therefore utterly confused all the way through. Like when Larry Hagman was on it.

I can see what you mean about it being a shame that they're still doing the same thing, rather than the other numerous things they could be doing, but it does function rather well as an outlet for all of their throwaway (yet hilarious) non-sequiturs which couldn't as easily be employed in another format, and I'm happy enough with that. Accordingly to Wikipedia they were working on a sitcom, so perhaps that'll see the light of day at some point.

I do miss Will Self being on it though, I think the dynamic of the teams misses something without him being there.

Anyone see Benefit Busters again last night? I had a soft spot for Mark.

Yeah I liked him too - intelligent, articulate, just needed pointing in the right direction. Felt awful for him when he lost his job.

At least the stafff seemed marginally more sympathetic in this week's.

I've noticed that Gloria Hunniford has begun to appear on our screens again with frightening regularity.

I really enjoyed that bit too. It was a welcome return all round, for me. I mean, there's fuck all else on TV now that You Have Been watching has finished, so why not revive this old chestnut.

I even liked that new comedy character bloke on Ulrika's team (no, not Paddy McGuiness).

The game at the end with Christine B(l)eakley was shithouse, mind.

I thought he was the best thing about it! Well, apart from George's song, obviously.

Friday Night Lights! You need to be watching this. Best television show on the air right now, and has been since it launched. Only on season 3. It has the most beautiful camera work, thoughtful and well-crafted yet very much real characters, and excellent production values.

If you can get past the idea of fantasy as in vampire rights as civil rights activists/Alan Ball genius/death and sex and awesomeness, you want to be watching True Blood. Great show.

Oh and you'll fall in love with Tim Riggins. Good times. Everyone does.

For those of you who do not mind a little bit of spoilery stuff for season 1 of Friday Night Lights. And don't worry, if you're afraid of the American football set-up, they soundtrack this show in a lovely way. I believe I've even heard some Camera Obscura there. But the main thing is that Explosions in the Sky do most of the music. How awesome is that? The show makes me cry like a baby (and laugh harder than anything else too) and, gah, you just need to watch it. I love everything about this show. It's just perfect:
