Re: Indietracks 2010 memories and photos

Oh, that and generous helpings of fraternal banter-cum-abuse 'twixt myself and one half of Humousexual. ("Oi, Hutchence! Oi, Moby!", etc.) ;-D I'd forgotten about that!I think maybe there should be an indiekids looking like mainstream artists competition, the brothers G would be shoe-ins for the ti...

Re: Indietracks 2010 memories and photos

I'm still telling people that I saw The Give It Ups and Betty and the Werewolves even if it was through the church window. Hahaha, that still counts, I reckon! I managed to "see" White Town and The Cavalcade that same way. In truth [top tip], if there isn't too much background noise (i.e. a quiet o...

Re: Indietracks 2010 memories and photos

OTHER *There are people that I feel I didn't get a proper chance to talk to this weekend, but there are also MANY people that I feel very, very sheepish about having TALKED AT far too much. You're forgiven - it was an unalloyed delight to watch Roundbitsofplastic Friend Of The Stars in action again...

"Strange House in the Snow" remains an incredibly unsettling listen. This is the way we punch and kick, y'all.

Finally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6njPmm7R7Q Oh, now that is very very good indeed. Nice work, Cats! Was Jyoti Mishra watching on at this point? I know he left a box of White Town 7"s in the merch stall and was snapping away enthusiastically throughout Help Stamp Out Loneliness's set. The re...

Re: Indietracks 2009 photos and memories

We were chatting to Mark right after Teenage Fanclub finished and he had the wide-eyed stare of a man who had seen too much. I still look like that - i sat on the train back this morning GIGGLING with glee. "ME! Top Of The Pops!" It. Will. Happen. One day. :-) Myself and your chum Ray K were hoping...

Re: Indietracks 2009 photos and memories

How were Teenage Fanclub? Did they go down well? Played well, went down well, went through more or less all the faves apart from "God Knows It's True". New stuff sounding very good indeed, and nice to hear that Ray McGinley, IMVHO marginally the weakest link of the songwriting triumvirate over the ...

It's hard to beat one of your favourite bands playing the song of theirs you are having as your first dance at your wedding next weekend. The Smittens are one of my favourite bands in the whole world and that they played 'The One For Me' a week before our wedding for us made me feel honoured and ha...

Aye, that Australian side of the mid-80s wasn't exactly overflowing with household names - Bob Holland anyone? Murray Bennett? Dirk Wellham? I see you those names and raise you; Tim Zoehrer Greg Dyer Chris Matthews Murray Bennett Peter Sleep In fairness to the last-named, he was very successful in ...

In other news, I see that the ECB have extended their current deal with Sky until 2013. Boo. ...but if Auntie Beeb, Channel 4, etc. offer nothing in the way of an alternative bid, what choice does the ECB have? A pallid effort from the terrestrial channels this time around, all things considered. gc

The great thing about this thread is it shows how many bands there are still to play Indietracks - there's a few years of Indietracks in this thread alone! Couldn't have put it better myself, and that's a really positive health-check on all things indiepop (and a little way beyond) when you conside...

Best make that Colly and anyone who can stick around with him. We need all the luck we can get!

Delaying the inevitable where Cook was concerned today, alas.

Still, that evens things out spurious decision-wise, doesn't it - see Flintoff's not-given dismissal of Kallis yesterday.
