Re: Sheffield

He was being a racing pundit, I didn't understand very much but he sounded very knowledgeable! Awww, you're very sweet! It wasn't my most fluent four hours of broadcasting by any means, but I think I found the odd winner and made the host and producer corpse at least once ("Ritual has had a nice co...

Re: Allo Darlin / Standard Fare / MOI / Plouf - Sheff 17/9

I had loads of fun. ...as well as being loads of fun yourself, too! Delighted I managed to see Plouf! in action at long last. Good stuff, sir! I think all involved can feel proper pleased with their efforts on the night. Packed venue, ace sets, drinkable beer, wonderful people, disco into the wee s...

Re:

Helen Love, of course, is a massive Cardiff fan and proper knows her stuff. And had a song called 'Cardiff City Superstars'. ...b/w "Swansea City" by whatever incarnation of Teen Anthems, Supercute, etc. John William Davies felt like being that day. I also liked the Prolapse spin-off Cha Cha 2000's...

Re: Allo Darlin / Standard Fare / MOI / Plouf - Sheff 17/9

As I am the designated disc jockey for this event, I should ask if anyone has any requests. If you ask for Sleigh Bells or Madonna you are definitely in luck... Giggle. I suspect one of the people I'm bringing along will be totally made up if some C86-era Soup Dragons were played - Head Gone Astray...

Re: Sheffield

Aslan's does a mighty veggie kebab. I can't think why it wouldn't be vegan, actually - mushrooms, grilled peppers, chips, salad. Yeah. It's sort of where West Street becomes Glossop Road, so it's not *dead* near the wheel - at least five minutes' walk, but no more than ten. Eeeeeeeeeexcellent. My c...

Re: Sheffield

Quick food-related question to the floor ahead of tomorrow night's jollities at the Red House. Does anyone know of a good kebab house within easy reach of the ferris wheel in the town centre, please? Preferably one likely to be open already by 5.30-ish, and one with vegan options owing to the dietar...

"25 Years of the Broom Cupboard" footage, eh? Oh dear. Think that's the rest of the working day spoken for, all of a sudden. Oh dear...

Re: Sheffield

PS For those of you who were still at the Gardeners when Tonieee moved onto the subject of twee songs, this is the Colin Clary track I referred to. Might be too cloying for some folk to stomach, I guess, but I've found myself returning to it quite often. Bless 'im; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjF...

Re: Sheffield

Anything planned in Sheff before Friday's double whammy of lunch club and the Red House gig? At the moment I seem to be doing a nice line in arriving at quizzes just as they're finishing, being a div and that, but hopefully I can put that right next time!

(NB Jeremy - can't you just tip 2nd favourite in all the races and see if anyone twigs?) Aaaaahh, that's where I've been going wrong all these years! ;-D Currently on my way to Chester races, so may employ that strategy there (just as long as the 2nd favs are coming out of stalls close enough to th...

Hooray! Yeah, let's watch the match. You never know. It might not be unbearable. tonieee and other non-football-watching people: it's OK to not watch the match while other people are watching the match. You can even talk and stuff. And you can definitely drink beer. B*ggeration, sod and toss. Heart...

Casiotone FTPA - the end!!!

Owen Ashworth's final ever UK tour dates under the Casiotone moniker announced on WeGotTickets (and probably elsewhere, too) this morning. Looks like I need to book a Friday off work all of a sudden; "Casiotone For The Painfully Alone is the musical alias of American film school drop-out Owen Ashwor...
