Re: Come Again: Indietracks Erotic Wordsearch

I read parts of this out in the car to Kerry as we drove back to feed the rabbit on Sunday morning, before coming back. The bit about the Wedding Present and Mexican Kids elicited an especially strong "eww". High praise indeed. I for one enjoyed it muchly, and the whole fanzine as it happens. Do ano...

Re: Indietracks discos

Any disco that plays Atari Teenage Riot is alright by me. I really enjoyed what I heard of that Sunday night Marquee disco, but it was so packed in there I couldn't face it.

There were a fair few people dancing outside too mind so it was fine; going mad for Deceptacon and Buddy Holly.

Re: Indietracks 2013 Photos and Memories

Also security were hilarious this year. Such effective bag checks:-
"Any drugs in there?"
"No"
"Alright in you go then"

By the third time of asking they just started waving me in, I could have had mountains of cough medicine and vicks for all they knew.

Re: Indietracks 2013 Photos and Memories

Well, I'm certainly glad I came to this one after missing out last year. This has to have been the best indietracks for years. An utterly huge congratulations to the organisers for putting it together and making it run so smoothly. I know it must be massively tiring, and sometimes maybe seemingly un...

Re: Who's camping?

Hope everyone's tents managed to stay fairly dry inside. Not pleasant to be changing out of wet clothes in dark tent. Walking back with the lightning flashing damn close by, was a terrifying if, ahem, electrifying experience. I have a feeling there'll be a couple of shorted out sockets via wet haird...

Re: what book are you reading?

So I finished Don Quixote which was uniformally excellent, frankly. It's always lovely to read a hugely acclaimed novel and not be disappointed. I particularly liked the more meta second half of the book. After that I read the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which was a bit mixed. There's nothing to ...

Re: The weather pessimism thread

I too would welcome a bit of rain.

I've not forgotten the boiling hot indietracks of yesteryear. 2008( i think ) with it's tea tent was one of the most excrutiating heat filled festivals I've ever experienced. Indietracks has no shade. Bring on the slightly cooler weather.

Re: Who's camping?

Heh! I wouldn't have expected anything less!

Good old golden valley I'd be disappointed if they somehow became a streamlined, high functioning campsite. Their can do with not much effort attitude works extremely well fo indietracks.

Re: Who's camping?

They've updated the golden valley website; it actually has a seperate section for Indietracks under prices now, and a booking form for those people who don't like phoning up. I'd be interested to know if anyones uses that form; and more importantly if it actually works, as given the organisers have ...

Re: General Stuff People Want to Know

This has probably been asked elsewhere but: We're camping with car again this year, but unlike before may need to have regular access on and off site (pet feeding to do). Is this a ballache. I know from past experience that it can be a bit of a nightmare even getting a car onto the campsite past the...

Re: Who's camping?

CAMPING BOOKED! spoke to Danielle who was really lovely, but the got cut off as she had to stop a car going the wrong way (!), so phoned back again and spoke to a bloke who took my details with cheerful "No need for a deposit mate" Then 30 seconds after I put the phone down had a what-if-they-dont-...

Re: what book are you reading?

I keep meaning to read The Marriage Plot, saw it for a couple of quid in a charity shop the other week and regretting not buying it for such a cheap price. Middlesex was/is utter genius. I've just finished Young Adolf by Beryl Bainbridge, which wasn't quite as good as I'd expected, farcical and fun ...

Re: I have few questions about indietracks if you don't mind

A couple of years ago (at least!) we got cash back at Butterley station. Not sure they still do it, but if they do it's surely cheaper than the campsite, as from what I recall didn't have to buy anything and weren't charged anything either.

Re: Nottingham

That's utter bollocks. That building it's housed in is lovely, they'll probably go and destroy it's facade now and just cover it with all the foul mermaid (is it a mermaid?) logo's that Starbucks possesses. I once stayed in the Bentinck, and although it was vaguely terrifying it was also nice to fin...
