Re: Playing Live

My band played the worst gig ever last night, it could not have gone more wrong. We haven't played since October, we've hardly even all been in the same room at the same time since then, but we got away with the last gig without much practice, so we thought we'd try it again. We showed up late becau...

Re: The Mac Thread

I'm running Snow Leopard, but I need 10.5 to use Pro Tools. I hardly ever use Pro Tools, I desperately need to use it over christmas but only for two weeks or so, and I really want to avoid having to re-install all my software that's currently on the Snow Leopard install. I don't have an external dr...

Re: recording on computers

Does anyone here use Pro Tools LE or M-Powered? Will an original m-box (the crappy looking ones from a few years ago) run a version of Pro Tools LE if I can find a disk or a torrent? I know that's a bit morally/ legally dubious and everything, but I always use and prefer Logic which I bought legally...

I'm desperate for a ticket for the 10 years of ATP festival, I don't suppose anyone knows of any spare tickets?

Re: A thread about pedals

If it's all you can afford their stuff does the job, but if you've got the cash it's always going to be better to go for the things they're ripping off... I bought a homemade shredmaster clone off ebay the other day, it does what it's supposed to, but after years of wanting a real one but not wantin...

Re: The Football

Even though Premiership issues don't seem to carry too much weight on here, I was wondering what you all thought of a potential two tier Premier League? I actually think I'm all for it so long as it was still connected to the football league pyramid, surely it would help promote a more even distribu...

Re: The Mac Thread

I really dislike the look of iTunes 9... Not a fan of the pointless shininess, I guess it's not worth getting worked up about it though... Not being able to access the mini player by clicking the green button irritates me though, and I wish there was some way to get the browsing system from iTunes 7...

Re: The Mac Thread

This isn't really particularly mac related, but I want to get a monitor to use with my macbook, about 20"-24"... the bigger the better really but I don't have much to spend, any suggestions? I've heard samsung are pretty good for the price, but I don't know and as much as I normally dislike their pr...

Re: The Mac Thread

I've gone from saying "I'm waiting for 10.6.1, without a doubt" to itching to get snow leopard installed on my macbook... I still have memories of some of my hardware not working when I first switched to leopard, I'm anxious to avoid that again. But I might just go for it anyway.

Re: Ostrich guitar

I've never tried this, I like having all my strings and I can't even afford to replace them at the moment so I'm always too scared to do anything that involves tuning a string up in pitch, and I just can't stand the anticipation when it feels like a string is on the verge of snapping... How far can ...

Re: The Mac Thread

Today I moved my macbook on top of my firewire soundcard because i was trying to do something with leads that were far to small to connect my synth and my soundcard. It seems like the wireless connection doesn't work when it's on top of it, isn't that weird? I get full signal strength normally, and ...

Looks like I've managed to cock up a 2nd iPod rebate...

I sold the iPod touch I got with my macbook to my sister for £100, I forgot to take the EAN sticker off the box and then she threw it away. So now I've lost £145...

So I'm pretty much converted to Safari over Firefox now, but is there any way to get the RSS feeds in the bookmark toolbar to function like they do in Firefox? So the articles appear in a list coming out of the toolbar rather than having to click through to the page...

Re: The Mac Thread

Can anyone tell me the correct way to remove printer drivers fully? I installed drivers for a Lexmark wireless printer that's at my parent's house on the macbook, but they're not very good and they cause the CPU to run at about 50% when idle, which makes the fans run at close to full speed constantl...

Re: Guitars

I'm neither patient or neat, so I'll leave that until I have enough money to get it done properly. It doesn't seem to have too much of a negative effect anyway. It's made in Japan, it's pretty high quality, certainly as good as any modern Mexican fender I've played. I've got an 80s MIJ Yamaha Les Pa...

Re: Guitars

Finally sold my thinline tele, posted it earlier and now I'm a bit sad. I promised myself I'd never sell that one... Its funny how fast my tastes can change like that. But on the plus side it encouraged me to dust off the 1984 Ibanez strat copy my step dad gave to me, its basically one of these but ...

Re: The Mac Thread

that's truly weird. sounds like too much of a problem to be attributed to some rookie programmer or something, but i guess that's the only real explanation unless there was some conspiracy to try and force anyone who wanted a solid state drive to upgrade to the 17" macbook or wait for some future ve...

Re: The Mac Thread

I need help again... If I plug a FW400 soundcard into the FW800 port on my Macbook and then daisy chain a FW800 drive through the soundcard, would the drive or the firewire bus then only be running at FW400 capacity? How about if I plugged the drive directly to the port and then connected the soundc...

We've uploaded a demo of a new song to my band's myspace because we can't get it together to record any real versions... its getting less and less indiepop, not that we ever were to start off with probably... i guess opinions would be good, i don't mean this to be pointless spamming... http://www.my...
